Frankly, I don't know why you're jealous of baroque players when you only play jazz. The baroque recorder always sounds better when playing baroque. the recorder in jazz is limited. Play a little baroque from time to time even if others are way ahead of you in this area. You said yourself that Bach was your favorite composer so go play some Bach.
