No, it's just beautiful poetry. Shakespeare isn't white poetry as Talib isn't black poetry. Art isn't about that absolute nonsense.

wow a Black man in the game that likes us? refreshing a music video featuring a Black woman as its leading lady? refreshing hip hop by a wordsmith an actual real rapper? refreshing an animation featuring a black woman? refreshing something that isn't taking the piss out of/ hating on/ ridiculing #black women? infact no #misogynoir whatsoever??! brilliant, beautiful work well done Talib

I don't know if anyone understands this or not, but this is not just about Hip-Hop, this is a story of what happened to it, and what happened to the world as well. At least that's how I interpret it. I think his standpoint and how he's using the music is unparalleled. He's changing the world... I wish he had some publicity like he had back in the day, but that would just make him Tupac 2014. That said, my main goal is to relay a message, tell people whats actually happening and what, why, and how the media covers it up. If people knew the truth, Talib would be the superstar and Jay-Z and Beyoncé (Beyoncé running the world) would be nothing... they had talent... but sadly that's over and done now. I support what Talib's doing, and I hope that I can do the same with my music. Talib Kweli for a better world!!

I dig your comment but let me say its all about hip hop cause real hip hop is a spiritual thing that's why the girl is saying touch my soul heart and mind it makes me so made what we as a people have done to the music so when you make music know that there are people out here whos souls need feeding so get them to that state of grace bro

I definitely agree and feel what you saying. Great comment. But Jay-Z would be great regardless if Talib got the publicity he desereved. My opinion is that Jay's catalogue of work would not be diminished to any level ... If a person views hip hop as an art (as it should be viewed), then that person should be able to see that Jay-Z is a master of his craft. Hands down. Just like Talib, Kendrick, Krit, and some of the other great talents that still hold it down in hip hop today. Story telling / expression isn't easy ... He has a true talent. The celebrity and "conspiracy" theories can tend to taint his greatness as an artist. I'm not debating your message or really anything you was trying to say, I just can't agree with Jay-Z not being a true great in this hip hop game.

This is what I'm talking about. This is what Hip Hop needs more of. In fact not necessarily more of, but more exposure of. Proper lyrics that have substance. Respect to the brother for continuing to make important music that speak to our people. Don't get it confused music IS for EVERYONE, but sometimes there is a need for songs that address specific demographics. Peace

and iggy azelea is winning awards for hip hop and rapping. smh -_- WTH is wrong with the world. 'she grew up loving hip hop' now all her daughter got is love and hip hop' 1:12 - That line clearly reveals how twisted the new generations view of music is. As a young person I must say that the fact that this artistic piece is self aware, unapologetic, inspirational and flawlessly lyrical gives me a slither of hope that not all is lost in the music industry.
