Strangely - I have been buying bottles of the 10 for some time, but always found it a bit sharp. I picked up a Skye at the weekend (on offer @ £25.50!), and much preferred it. I felt it was a little sweeter, but with some saltiness too (which is a nice mix), and had more of a BBQ feel to it. More pleasant to drink all round - IMHO.

Thanks. Agree with every word of that. Skye is OK but a bit lightweight with no finish worth talking about. 10 is the daddy.

Another cracking review. Fortunately enough to have spent a lot of time in your company drinking cheap (and expensive) whiskies. It doesn't matter the price, you are always flavour led. Great job. 👍

I love Talisker, it is certainly one of my favourite distilleries. I love both the Skye and the 10, but the 10 is certainly the standout between the two.

Someone said the Skye is a great introduction to Talisker but I think the 10 is the best coming from them. Storm and Dark Storm are really nice with more salty and smoky flavours but I never connected with the Skye, I just don't get it in the line up, everything feels dialed down. I keep it in the freezer and use it to make Rusty Nails :) Great review, cheers!

The Skye is quite sweet, orange, barley, salt, smoke... Its certainly not bitter to my taste... A great one.. Just picked up another bottle at morrisons for £24...such a bargain

I bought the sky when it first came out, haven’t bought it since, says it all really.I pick up the 10 when it’s on offer like a couple of months ago for €26 couldn’t say no. Good comparison video 👍 Slàinte

Just been on Master of Malt and well the box of a new release called Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest caught my eye. With the box design being something that will easily catch the eye of anyone. While for the description it does sounds interesting. Now what does it taste like, well after buying some Whisky recently I am on the wall. But if such a Whisky pop’s up in Sainsbury’s I might have to pull the trigger so some more Nectar points can be earned.

Having had the Dark Storm and the 10, I preferred Dark Storm. However, I picked up laiphroug 10 at £30 from Asda and it outclassed both for me. Also liking Ledaig 10. Any other similar recommendations to explore this type of palette are welcome. Great videos, keep up these comparisons!

The only Talisker I've bought is Storm: more smoke, less pepper... but then I am a Friend of Laphroaig! I've had the 10 more than once when out and about, but I disliked the Skye so much I think I would turn down a free pour of that (as I once - quite memorably - did with Macallan Gold and - less controversially, perhaps - with Johnnie Walker White Walker).

See… right… first time I had Skye I was literally disgusted… but now I’ve had them back to back there isn’t as big a difference as I remember! But still… my choice has now been made.

Would you say it's similar to Arran Barrel Reserve vs. Arran 10? I think Talisker 10 is my favorite whisky so far, I only tasted it when I bought a tasting pack where there was a 0.2L bottle, and I'm not sure which one I should get now.

I liked the old talisker 10 (old label blue) allot. New label are not as good. I love the normal skye more soecially with a drop of water. And for the more smokey ones I rather drink kilchoman sanaig.

My palette is NOT developed but…… The 10 TO ME is lighter The Skye is darker fruits with aaaaaa heavy sweetness like caramel or something. The 10 is more open, and ILOVE the brine which is weird coz I hate sea food (mostly due to texture I guess)

The 10 Port Ruighie and Distillers are all worthy drams the skye and storm are not as good imo and the amount of e150 in the new bottles is gross. I still look for the last series of bottles...
