I felt Toyo's pain and could see his hurt. Well played, Deza. Everyone wants what is best for their child, so I can understand Ruth's mom POV. But for peace sake, 3 years of mourning is a very long time, especially for someone she didn't really love. Where Zena went wrong is moving into her in-law's house upon returning from the states. Now her in-law wanted to be in control and tell her what to do... This is 2024, and nobody is waiting for a dead person body to be cold in their grave before moving on and especially being in their 30's. Mother-in-law better go sit her ass somewhere as she continues to mourn her son. Btw her bestie was so genuine to her, you dont really find that now a days. Good job, Ruth and Deza. I enjoyed this movie...

Talk to Me was a clever well thought out title bc not only was Ruth successful through persistence in reconciling with Deza but also opening up a new and different line of communication with her mother that was provoked by the drastic action of another to finally do right by her daughter. Mrs. Ruth did everything a person should do when they hurt someone and are trying to be heard to make amends and win a heart back . You must be willing to put in work, make an effort, humble yourself and do what is required bc it’s the one you wounded world. Reconciliation is hard work and can be painful but no risks no reward. I always love seeing Ruth seduce Deza She can always get what she wants. Ruth can charm grapes off a vine, sell Eva water to a drowning man and sap to a tree. Whenever I see Deza and Ruth kiss and hold one another the world stops for a moment. It’s so beautiful.
