Pogba's departure was also very key for United's recent success. That kind of team usually belongs in a promotion-relegation battle, and would've won the league if not for Guardiola smashing the bank with his fullbacks, whereas Mou basically was not able to spend the same €60mln paid for Mahrez in his 3 years at the club (and no, Pogba was clearly not his decision)

Great video! Ten Hag proved at all his clubs he is a great manager. He just needs time. In Holland at Ajax he was managing the biggest and richest club. The difficulty was that Ajax would almost loose there best players in the summer break. That won’t happen at United. I hope he gets the time. The progress is already visible. The transfers were expensive but absolutely worth it. Antony and Martinez are amazing. I’m pretty sure that United will come back for Timber next year. United would even had more points if he would have started immediately with Varane and Martinez, and benching Maguire..

Not a chance; they would bench him until they are gone, period. regardless of whether they are going to be sold for some fortune or free to a third division team in China. With Ronaldo, Varane, Casemiro, Lisandro, Anthony, Eriksen, and perhaps Malacia they are starting to form their final roster. But lets not forget that City had/has Sane/Foden *and* Mahrez in the same position. Like you rightly stated, we still have a way to go, but all the early signs (apart from the first two games) are positive. We are keeping the ball better, pressing well and most importantly, getting a good run of wins. You can see the team spirits different, they are fighting for each other which was non existent previously. I'm happy with the progress. Casemiro has been absolute class for us and gives Bruno the freedom to play his own game. Rashfords on fire also. Big test against City so let's see how much we have improved and put in a good performance.

Varane and Martinez are the main difference makers in the defence at least. Dalot has been influenced by their mentality and motivation, Malacia is also too young to be a mentality beast alone, but with Varane and Martinez he has so much support. Also Eriksen is ice cold, nothing phases him. Making the midfield ready for anything. And I'm sure Casemiro will bring more Ice and Iron to the midfield. And ten Haag is also very different from Ole. Ole was too nice, calling everyone a nickname. But Erik wants togetherness, wants integrity, no leaks, and much better training, with an actual vision for how to play. And the fact that Erik ran the punishment with the players shows, as he said, that Erik is there with the players, while he might not be playing, he's also part of the team. I'm glad that Maguire is on the bench, i feel like his mentality is too weak. Recently I've heard how he blames everyone but himself, blaming DDG, coaches, and other players for not supporting him. Yet all I hear from players is how good a leader he is blah blah.
