I adore these two episodes. Thrilled by its return and although a bit visually raggedy now, the then CGI, looked marvellous to me. Ecclestone, brilliantly The Doctor all the way through this season, completely shines here. So many Daleks, such epic menace and that expertly executed speech to Rose and the Daleks. This regeneration is my favourite change of actor in all of nu-who. I genuinely wish Chris could have brought himself to do one more season, just to cement all that wonderful promise he delivered within the role. Fab review Time-Ladies. Gx

Funnily enough, I think the reasons why CE so easily and so quickly conveys the natural authority of the character are all the same reasons why people were sceptical of him in the first place. His grounding in social realist drama, and his commitment to social justice on the bigger scale actually gave him strengths that far outweighed the often kooky smugness of his successor. DTs love and commitment to the show is not in question, and his portrayal reflects that, but CE really did bring something new. Not least his accent. Three seasons would have been brilliant with him. Rose is a really well realised character, but I don't really like her overall, and even less so once she teams up with DT. Reckon you could do a Talkin' About Emmerdale cosplay with James and Jason as Amos and Mr Wilkes. P-Bal can be Seth. Thanks for all the great content chaps.❤

So was Lynda with a Ys death scene the one originally intended for Rose? Or would she have died from the Vortex? To be honest I want to live in the universe where series 2 is Eccleston mourning rather than Tennant and Piper smugfesting....

Both me and the wife actually totally missed a trailer saying the Daleks were back for the two part finale! So it was a great surprise to us! I am really glad it happened that way

Imo still probably the best series finale we have ever had in modern doctor who. Even tho the game shows date it terribly. The daleks are actually quite scary in this ep, eccleston goes out brilliantly with his perfect regeneration scene. Not too over emotional with big meta speeches. I like the nod to classic who when the doctor and jack are told they will be sent to the lunar penal colony, where the doctor went to in frontier in space Bad wolf - 8/10 Parting of the ways - 9/10
