Very nice. I think a dissertation on hooks, especially for smaller changers, would be cool. Seems like most hooks are really beefy and stout, maybe a bit of overkill? I've been trying the Owner Gorilla Light in 2/0 with a tail shank, 2*8mm and 2*10mm shanks and Gamechanger Chenille. The total length is 3". Seems like a good fit. Tail shanks are way overpriced, imho, so I use a cheap hook (mustad 3366) and cut it. Tight lines

Try it and form your own opinion. This is how you answer your own thoughts and questions, and then you can TELL them that it works. These guys put their pants on one leg at a time just like you do! They just set out to answer their own questions, where most fly tiers want to be told what works. The money (marketing) is in the telling, NOT the asking!! Food for thought.

😊FLY tying materials are so expensive. Chockletts materials are so expensive. EP fibers are also expensive. We can’t afford to buy 50 colors of one product. Bonnie’s macrame at 4 dollars a skein will make enough EP fibers to last 50 fly Tyers a lifetime of flies. That’s why we are constantly looking for cheaper materials. Blaine’s articulated shank prices are scandolous, wire and a cheap pair of pliers are cheap. Suppliers need too put way more products in packages. Sorry I am not a millionaire.

Tying flies is definitely not the cheapest hobby, and sure there are substitutes. It's our job to show the most recent materials and hardware and to push fly design. If you can't afford what we're using feel free to find your own substitutes. However, with something like shanks, precision in the build of the shanks will affect swim. At the rate we use shanks, we'd never stop bending wire to keep up so it's well worth it to us.

Bro, this is a marketing video...with helpful hints. Fish have been caught long before these products were ever thought of, for sure. In the decades to come, materials will change again. So as fly tiers, it is good to see what is being done now, but look forward and find new ways of achieving the same results. The fish have the final say what is the best. All of this self promotion is to move expensive products and to give the impression that you absolutely need these products. If a fly tier wants to tie the exact fly to the T, then yes, you need the exact product used. Don't get caught up in the over whelming game of I need all of these products. View the information as a guide only and set out to come up with your own way and blaze a new trail. This approach will make fly tying so much more enjoyable and fulfilling. Remember, most of these big predator fish will attack your wife's old bra attached to your leader. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Have fun!
