Id say there is a guaranteed chance we will get at least 1 more Open Beta test since this one is a Closed Beta test, every developer who makes a online game wants to test out how the servers handle as many players as possible which this test wont tackle. As for people getting picked for it, id say the decisive factor for it was the pc setup you had, as a developer you want to test as many combinations of hardware as possible to detect errors and optimization issue that may come from them and for pc you simply cant have all the possible combinations in house. And its possible people are just seeing the vocal minority and its obvious the people who didnt get in will be loud and they will notice people who never played ak more than the ones that did.And its possible they focused content creators to advertise the game, that shouldnt be looked down upon by any1,its just a logical thing to do.

I agree with the take cause we as fans are kinda biased so having people and content creators that don't play AK will give them a more honest review of the game and will also help bring the game to more people. On top of that I think they should add more languages like Spanish for example. Regarding the feather, Liberis gives a feather to a person they're affectionate towards and in the trailers she said she worked with us in the past so she may be our waifu (let me cope).

Ok the flip side the "unbiased" people might give feedback that leads onto the game becoming nothing like Arknights. How many times have we heard people asking for more colour or complaining about world being too dreary? Coincidentally also subset of people who want everything to look like Genshin that already altered Wuthering Waves beyond recognition. Why should core Arknights aesthetic and idea be compromised for people who were never interested in the first place?

I've actually seen less drama about content creators getting access, people seem to understand better these days that non-arknights creators get access for marketing reasons etc Back during tech test there was a lot of creator access drama tho for sure I've seen it be more complaints about just non-arknights fans in general getting a lot of invites (true or not)

Ahh interesting, the drama that has come my way has been more about non-AK cc's getting access but from the comments definitely also getting a feel for how the AK community feels. I genuinely think that a lot of them have, they just aren't online or in the communities discussing these things and I also think since the previous test there has been a lot more interest in the game so the actually chances of getting onto the beta maybe just got harder (I am curious if more people genuinely did apply)

I honestly don't know what the problem is. As a 2 years and a half old player of Arknights and as someone who has completed most of the content in the game and read most of the lore, I have big expectations for Endfield. Even though I don't have beta access, I don't mind because there should be enough Arknights fans in there to give proper feedback and newer players to give honest criticism. I'll just stay as spoiler free until launch and when it officially releases I'll be able to see if they managed to live up to my expectations. If they do and it gives me the same vibes that I would expect from Arknights then all good and if it doesn't and turns out to not be anywhere close to how I like it I'll just stop playing, delete the game and go back to only playing Arknights. Nice and simple

Situation: my take on it is that there's a concern that the non-fans will make suggestions that push the game away from what makes it Arknights. Like some people wanting it to be more colourful. Might also just be saltiness though 😅 I think your thoughts on it makes sense for why it might have been done that way (whether on purpose or not) Oripathy: if i recall from the tech test, i think oripathy is no longer a death sentence. So that might just be an example for that. Book: ive heard its a real book, dont recall the name though atm.

Ahh interesting, I understand! I think though that the company is strong enough that they won't let that happen, otherwise it wouldn't be an arknights game anymore and honestly there is no need. But I do see the need of an input from outside of the arknights audience because they want to bring in a new player base. Just noisy people on the Internet. A lot of middle and high schoolers who think they are privileged and should get keys. And also other people who think they are owed something for being a content creator. I have noticed a lot of content creators coming in from the Mihoyo side who are desperate for an "in" since they're not doing well. I was a beta tester for companies like Square and Blizzard, an actual one who wrote reports on bugs, feedback from other players and technical reviews of the game and hardware that those games ran on. I can say that the emphasis on pushing marketing is a big deal for all companies these past few years, versus when I was active 20 years ago.

I think the gaming market and advertising has absolutely changed in 20 years for sure, me and my friend had a conversation about this from the way they market ps1 to ps4 games now alone is SO different to back in the day and in the gacha field, its even more varied. I think there is concern that a lot of ccs could hop onto the "hype" train and not dedicate themselves to the game but I think a lot of people will try the game from seeing these ccs playing it whether the cc stays or not.

They keep changing the lore but last I heard oripathy hasn't be cured by Endfields time but Rhodes island did develop drugs that put the state into permanent remission as long as the drugs are taken.

It's not a suppressant band. It's just an infection monitor and it's Rhodes Island policy for everyone to wear one both for safety reasons as well as to help infected feel like they don't stand out as much.

Blight is incurable. Huge part of Perlica background revealed so far is that she's one of the very few survivors of Blight and that was achieved by replacing most of her internal organs with Originium. Blight is very literally The Collapse. It ain't getting cured.

We just lack too much info on this whole thing did they prioritise non ak fans or no. if a non fan applies and get rejected they wont go around complaining about not getting access to the game that they barely know anything about. But if they did get access well they are much more likely to make themselves seen so ak fans just keep seeing non fans get access but they don't see all the non fans that didn't get access. I also think vice versa applies to fans since they will be much lauder when not getting access. and the whole content creators are more likely to get access is just smart business decision both for getting feedback and exposing the game for a lot of people which is kind of the point of the beta access kind of silly to get angry because of that.

well it is what it is ive been gacha gamer since 2012 and have played nearly every gacha atleast a week before dropping or continuing till EOS have applied for many Beta and technical tests over the years and ill say its a rough 70% of the time i get in including early few Hi3 beta However recent years of the Hoyo boom from genshin and other games i have applied for all of them but didn't get in so far the only recent test i have been in was the early technical test for ZZZ at the Cognosphere office in Singapore it just feels like the invite tests nowadays are mostly content creators with a mix of people either becoming proper fans or just a quick cash grab and never care about it afterwards anyways waiting for more star rail content 👀

The bracelet isn't exclusively for infected. That's a vital / health monitor first and oripathy suppressant second. Rhodes Islander are required to wear their vital monitor.

Still we can not confirm if we can cure. Dissolve some exposed originium is already a thing in AK and that's not a cure it's just to prolonged the oripathy. Maybe that's a cure maybe not.

HG wants to gain more players and not keep a stagnant player base and also I do not know the statistics of people getting access to beta to even talk about it. I don't even know how many AK or non AK players are getting access to this beta to even talk about. We do not know how many got beta and weren't vocal about it too. If HG "intentionally" didn't choose AK players it's probably due to a higher chance of them being bias. Just feels like people just want to play early and not test and send feedback. From the perspective of someone who is working as a game designer, there is something that worries me a lot with the Endfield beta. Something that surprised me about this whole beta thing is the minimum requirements to be able to play the game. Which seem outrageous to me. They ask for a machine that can run Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra, for example. Which seems extremely absurd to me... not only are they filtering out people with less powerful systems, but they are focusing on giving priority to content creators. So I am more worried that issues like optimization, bugs, and stability on different platforms, which is what betas are supposed to be for, are not really addressed. Which can even end up killing the game.

A good business decision would be letting as many people as possible play to test things and give feedback. There's really no reason to restrict access like this, especially if it's supposedly close to launch. Unless they are less interested in feedback and more interested in PR and advertisement from content creators.

They sure want feedback as maany as possible as they shown by the long interview text BUT it also depends on how their server can handle. If they invite too many people noone gonna get to play due to too much load. They want people to experience the best performance for all new mechanic they tried. and server load is probably not their priority otherwise they would launch open beta instead of close beta

The issue is that theres a huge chance beta feedback alters the game. Techtest feedback already altered the game and its still unclear if for the better. I'd rather not have another wuthering waves where people who never cared about the game alter it for longtime fans removing what was good about it leaving end result barely resembling the original sales pitch. The last thing ak needs is goofy funny world drawn on crayons and with a mascot. CBT is exactly the test where people who actually care and know what the game is about should get a chance to give feedback-and not some random tectone screaming about how game needs more colour and should be more cheerful. Prioritising random ccs over the players and ak ccs just informs the player base that theres a possibility that Endfield doesnt care about being like AK nor wants AK players to enjoy it which is very bad messaging and they shouldn't have called it Arknights Endfield then. Fair RNG with some cc special invites beyond it is fair RNG people would be salty but nobody would mind.

I stand by the points I have given previously and still find it a bad show to not prioritize or give more current players of arknights a chance to get into the beta. to me it just stinks to have gotten the OG playerbase hype for it only to shove them aside for short time hype with people that to a good chunk will play endfield for 2 weeks and then move onto the next thing. I would also like to bring up arknights have had problems previously with people getting into the dev process, or rather in this context the music creation for it with the specific intention of actively harming Arknights cause they are a fan of a different game. and I do think it is a point to be made to be careful with letting "outside" people take direction of the game too much cause it might come with some having the intention to make the game worse.
