The reason open backs are sourced is becos healers ,shamans ,crystal /energy workers ,users, wearers etc believe the energy of the gemstone doesnt o flow thru the pendant or ring etc . Becoos the metal acts as a sort of deflector I'm with on the matrix in turquoise and that the plain stuff looks plastic to me lol .such a great and I formative video ..really appreciate it .have a great day Dave ✌️

It's always nice to see how americans appreciate stuff made in america. We don't have a lot in the ground here in the Netherlands so everything has to be imported. American opal is great too, very unique

😮My comment refers to the entire video- my first but definitely not the last I will watch. It is incredibly ❤exciting to watch and listen to someone who knows his field and loves the beauty he and others bring out out sometimes strange looking pieces of starting material. Too bad I will be stuck in Delaware next weekend. Then again maybe it’s a good thing. Thank you so much for this video

Right there... blue lace ... looks grey....take that rock and leave grey line on outside...turn everything in the middle white... put it in the shape of a V and place it in jemstone carnelian... that's what I found

Great advice to the person who reached out to you. Personally, I prefer the gem to be the focus or at least not taken away by huge silver "art". But I have no idea how to do lapidary but know what I like, but then again it's more what a customer wants. I hope I get a chance to buy some of Don's beautiful art.

Yeah, I’m pretty careful it’s just the turquoise that has a lot of pyrite in. It can be pretty gross. Looks like I crawled from underneath a coal train

Art...i found a carnelian nugget with white banding and grey outside line in the shape of a V... only going to get a single bead from it but you'd better have a good trade to get it! It's absolutely beautiful 😢

I have some Randomite' from an empty lot on our block. Also if your Abbacab's have developed cracks or breaks ,fret not, for they are developing a 'self-healing medicine for jewelery and Most igneous materials. It will, of course, require more rest and less active exposure to the sun to take effect and later only minimum contact w/human bean's.

If a person doesn't appreciate my art it just means they have no clue! Take that last comment i sent about the missed cab making because of music....art will stand out! So music is art and i went for the music! One art overruled the other 😮
