Jason and AJ discuss the 2020 Inaugural Wild West Showdown at Ron Jon Raceway in Brooksville, FL. There were 7 classes to compete in that weekend:
SC Modified 13.5 Open
SC Late Model 13.5 Blinky
Slash Street Stock
Bomber 17.5 Blinky
Open Late Model
Open Sprint
1/8 Nitro Outlaw
With 100 entries the inaugural race had an excellent turnout despite some rainy weather that weekend.
After some morning practice on Saturday a driver’s meeting was held and then qualifying began. Two rocket rounds of qualifying was used to determine the overall TQ for each class. So let’s see how the team performed in the main events.
In the Bomber 17.5 Blinky class JConcepts driver Paul Wynn took the TQ and win! His Team Associated buggy was setup for this class thanks to the JConcepts B6.1 Carbon Fiber Street Stock Towers topped off with a realistic looking 1978 Chevy Camaro lid!
In the Open Sprint A Main we had several drivers make the final event. Leading the way was JConcepts driver A.J. Marasco in 2nd place! Also making the main was team mates Kevin Abbott (5th) and Max Flurer (6th).
Speaking of Max, he also competed in the Open Late Model class and finished 2nd on the podium too! That wraps up another wild, classic weekend of championship racing for the JConcepts team!
