I raced MX and now ride street bikes....brakes are such a huge componet to any bike....you can only go as fast as you can stop.....for my first street bike high end brakes were a must..... Suspension and brakes are so important Running Stylema brembos and about as good as you can get for street......already saved my ass few times avoiding accidents.....

Simon very well done. i am a retired aerospace engineer and you present things is a clear and concise manner. By the way have the MotoGP engineers ever considered switching to Skydrol? It is a phosphate ester hydraulic fluid that is non-hydroscopic, viscosity stable and fire proof, we used it on the Bombardier Challengers, Global Express and RJ series jets. It is used on most of the commercial / business jets presently flying. As a Ducati fan I'll say mention it to GG Dall'Igna first.

Brilliant explanation!! And what about when raining? Brake discs receive more cooling power due to the convection by water, years ago motogp brake discs were made on steel because there was difficult for them to reach the 250ºC to work properly if they were made on carbon. How have they solved this issue?
@MPI10004 жыл бұрын
They use covers for the discs so they don't get spray directly on them.

What about tungsten plating on steel disks. I've heard there is a high degree of consistency, with them. Though the break calipers may need to be larger.
