@@a.a.7227 I am french native, and i think these mistakes, badly chosen words and bad accents make the charm of this song. But there is no poetic depth (compared to French poetry) This is the reason for my comment here: the transcription should not overcorrect the text.

You didnt get it, song's about a psycho killer or someone who identifies as.. The dude keeps telling everybody to run away from him, because if he's triggered he couldnt handle himself and know it. So he prefers to send people away, and refers to some personnal experiences to justify he's a psycho and you should be afraid of him. But the fact is he doesnt know what a psycho is, and he's "probably" just a young men with emotional issues at this point. That's also why a lot of conservative people don't like or purely hate the song
@debbiebeam319425 күн бұрын
@@TheTrippyCh0ng WOW for someone who thinks they know it all reading into the lyrics literally. Maybe don’t take everything so seriously & just enjoy the music. This quote is from writer of song “The meaning behind the Talking Head’s signature hit “Psycho Killer” is a lot like how it sounds. The classic new wave bop isn’t necessarily about a crazed murderer, but it instead enters the mind of one for a musical journey through the psyche.”

First concert I ever ushered for Bill Graham was at the Fox Warfield. Pearl Harbor & The Explosions were the opening act for The Talking Heads. I worked the top of the third balcony and there were *two shows*. After clearing the house and seating everyone for the second show I was told I could go anywhere.... well... there was a bank of seats in the front row empty (because the speakers were right there) and I walked right up and sat. An usher tried to usher me away but when I showed my badge I got to stay for the whole second show! Let me say that this was definitely the best concert I've ever been to... and to get *paid* for it was just icing! The Talking Heads are without a doubt my favorite group... and being 10 feet away from them was amazing. I had never even heard of Pearl Harbor & The Explosions before but they definitely rocked it! Great group, great songs, great energy!

Saw the Heads in 78' just before the black album came out. Couldn't believe it! It was just like this...the complete opposite of 'Classic Rock' with the long hair, dry ice machines, million dollar laser light show...CR: YES, ELO, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Bread, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Genesis etc. Classic Rock is bands strictly from the 70's mostly. The Beatles, Stone's, the Allman Brothers, the WHO, the Byrds, the Kinks etc. etc. were 60's bands NOT 70's though like the Stones, Fleetwood Mac, they may have carried over into the 70's. I consider the end of the original 60's rock music to have happened in 71' when Dwayne Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. Classic Rock is full of pretension...things like the magician costumes, the million dollar, smoke, laser lights, backing sets etc. etc. New Wave/Punk started in 1977 mostly and the bands did away with all the cliche' kitsch and just got back to the music. I was hooked as soon as I saw the 'Heads play in a hockey rink in 78'.

This is one of those bands back when, where the whole is much better than its individual parts. David didn't sing in the traditional sense, so he wrote or chose songs that were anything but traditional, kinda like a Bob Dylan on a bad trip. I guess it was because he took counter culture to the limits & then one step further. I didn't get why he initially wanted the chorus sang in Japanese, but wound up in French. Now after hearing it again, for some reason I got it.
