Boy Jamie that Uluwatu piece was so real.. the years of waiting, That early skatepark with LB in Super Sessions. Bringing a girlfriend that didn't match was classic. Keeping away from bitterness was and is such a soul killer. and your anthropological love of Malibu shows me that you have disciplined your self to get what you get in the water but keep an open mind and open heart. I took away from this, that the discipline of writing starts first with staying open and curious and compassionate. . I remember Jamie had a big Lisa Anderson article back in the day the headlines to the article were almost kiss and tell; but inside the story was a connection and respect for this lovely waif of a girl in Tom Carrol shorts a new mom with no hubby and surf talent galore. This was refreshing for Surfer back then and now, An Awesome promise of a new book that I Hope comes out to Indonesia for me to read. Never knew there was talk about a sequel to Big Wednesday. I have thought for years there should be. It could be based on the board that Matt gave away or Jack's daughter.

I think I remember Brisick from being a guest on Wave Watch with PT in the mid to late 1980s. He somehow was almost horizontal on the chair like he was laying down on the chair during the PT interview.
