I was taking a rug braiding class (like our grandmothers had) and one of the ladies said they had picnic eggs for their meal. We were all like WHAT?? She said they were not inviting any thing with the devil attached to it, to their meal!! So, they call theirs picnic eggs!! Makes total sense!! 😁

My great nephew, now deceased, refused to call them deviled eggs. He always called them “Angel eggs.”

I so agree. We call ours "dressed eggs". Lufe and death proceeds out of the mouth.

We always had creamed onions for my Pop, rutabaga for my Gram, the stuffing was stuffing made the way my great grandmother made it, mashed potatoes and Mrs Paul's candied sweet potatoes for my brother.Sadly they don't make them anymore. I never liked them. I make a sweet potato souffle now and it's delicious. Enjoyed hearing about others traditions. Happy Thanksgiving to all and many blessings as well. 🙌

Good morning from Upstate NY!! I always remember having deviled eggs & scalloped corn for every holiday meal. Love learning all the different ways of preparing dishes, and canning! Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving!!!

Catching the replay! Thanksgiving this year is just my husband, me and our dog. And due to dental work only soft foods will work. So this year is a turkey pot pie. Meat, veggies, gravy and a pie crust. We each get a side choice…dressing (he likes the box stuff and I don’t care for dressing) and deviled eggs. Going to be an easy cooking day for us. lol!

I was raised in TN and we always had deviled eggs. I still love my stuffing cooked in the turkey. I make mashed potatoes and gravy. I also love sweet potato pie.

Hello, thank you for all these great ideas! The cranberry sauce sounds amazing, well, really, all of your recipes sound amazing! I do, as well, let my turkey rest for about an hour. I can get all the other things done while it is doing that! I learned that from Jamie Oliver a few years ago and have never looked back. We have our Thanksgiving in October here in Canada but who is to say i couldn't have some of these recipes any day! I have tried several of your recipes so far and have been so delighted with the flavour! Thank you for all the hard work that you do to help us get food on our tables and pantries! Have a lovely weekend!

Grateful for my gas range so if the electricity goes out longish term I can process meats from the freezer (my stash is pretty small so wouldn't be a huge undertaking). Glad to see your booboo is healing and your beautiful sense of humor is unscathed. Shabbat shalom 🙂

Let me say I'm not an animal worshipping tree hugger. So, I'm not trying to come off that way..... Sometimes God calls US to be the rescue. We had a kitten appear in the woods behind us. It too was so hungry and scared. Our intent was to find it a good home. After praying about it, for some reason God brought that cat to us even though we felt like we had no room or time. He reminded me that I'm always asking to be used of Him. Sometimes He has us start with things we don't want to do or may even think is insignificant before we graduate into more. It's kinda like cleaning the bathrooms at church as your "service to God" before He puts you in charge of the mission work. Just something to think about and pray about.
