It's been an honor watching Weller's musical genius evolve over the past 33 years. The most wondrous thing is that The Jam songs are just as great as the new music: He's always been great, since the beginning. And he's still the coolest looking guy in the world.

When a former Beatle praises your work in the business 'you've been in for 40 plus years' then you know you've done very well' he always has been a professional of the music industry of the highest order as hes stood 'and is still standing' the test of time. a national treasure who knows his way around and what hes doing.

Weller is a legend! Quick correction for Macca…the first time he met Weller was in 1982 when they did a photo shoot together for Smash Hits magazine! It’s all good though, memory fades over time, and Sir Paul is still doing well for a man in his 80s. 👍🏻

@digiface 4 жыл бұрын
@@spence7985 nope that's exactly what he was focusing on. McCartney's written some great songs and has his own mountain of work but he's half dick .. it seemed to increase with age, beatles went to his head. Everything Weller did in The Jam, the first 5 years of the Style Council, everything he did in the 90's and almost half the stuff since 2000 is brilliant, sometimes unbelievably so. After 2000 Weller's struggled I think, except with True Meanings which I'd class as a proper album again with it's own feel and at least half the songs on the record are truly great

@digiface 4 жыл бұрын
@@theloniouscoltrane3778 Well you clearly haven't understood what's being said but since when did the lowest common denominator become the best? Who's 'everyone' anyway? I don't know about where you live but in the UK many kids now would struggle to name one beatles song, let alone three written by paul. But they couldn't name any paul weller songs either. I love those songs you've put, they're absolutely great, but they're all from 50 years ago now.

Wow. Paul DOESN'T remember meeting him in 1982! It's one of Paul Weller's cherished memories and there are photos that prove it happened, with different clothes, so it was more than once, but Paul says they met in 1995.😕 Oh well, I guess you can't expect someone to remember everyone they've been photographed with, when they've met as many people as he has.

I don't know if he's doing it on purpose, but Macca seems to keep name-dropping people. I've never really understood how Macca and Weller could get on, considering that most people can't name any new songs by Macca that are from the last twenty years, while Weller always seems to be evolving, although I'm a bit biased since I'm a massive Jam Fan rather than a Wings fam. That's just my opinion, and is in no way intended to offend Sir Paul McCartney or his fans.

I can understand where you're coming from, I really can, but there is some Macca gold coming out, just not as much as there used to be. Check out 'Jenny Wren' from a couple of years back.

jasrust Good call on that. I remember listening to that and thought that was a real great piece of music that only someone of the calibre of a true great could write. He's s strange, weird twat at time Paul, but then the real him is always still there underneath.
