You're getting Fay Wray and Alice Faye mixed up. Fay Wray was in King Kong. These programs star Alice Faye.

No she wasn’t. She played the lead female roles of In Old Chicago and Alexander’s Ragtime Band in the late 30s. She was Tyrone Power’s favorite female actress and starred with him quite often.
