Thank you so much! I learned a lot from this. My first real earnest care about the atonement was from when I was 14 when I listened to W Cleon Skousen’s “why the atonement was necessary” and how Heavenly Father’s power was due to his being honored by all intelligences in the Universe! A really great talk. Thank you for your own presentation that reminds me about that! His Honor is his Power. He is universally honored and the demands of justice were met by Christ's atonement through the mercy of the intelligences that honor his sacrifice for us. He paid to ransom each of us!

When I was pregnant with my 29 yr. Old son, a cyst grew to the size of a soccer ball in my ovary that had to be removed. The surgery was in my 20th week of gestation. At a later time after my child was born I had another abdominal surgery by another surgeon who knew my history. He explored the healing that had taken place and reported to me in amazement that there was no scarring or evidence that I ever had that surgery…except of course with exception of the missing ovary. Otherwise, I was so perfectly healed there was no evidence. At the time I thought, well, my body is in grow mode…so it healed better. I love knowing now that it was my son who actually helped heal me. Beautiful.

Wow, this is amazing. The way you describe the imagery of our Savior being like our moms giving birth to us and we heal our moms are mom‘s hair loss we heal our savior, our savior Heals us powerful beautiful imagery. Thank you so much.

I totally agree with your “while”. I have long believed that while the Savior suffered for us, it was not that He saw our sins that we would commit, even though that is what each drop of blood was for. I have believed that He did see each of our faces and knew why-or for whom- He was suffering. It is His deep love for each one of us that gave Him the strength and will and desire to stay and suffer for us. He truly loves us perfectly and is there to walk with us as we make our journey back home.

I listened to this video yesterday and have been pondering it. I just read these verses in Ether 12 11 Wherefore, by faith was the law of Moses given. But in the gift of his Son hath God prepared a more excellent way; and it is by faith that it hath been fulfilled. 12 For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith. Our faith in Christ makes us his children, and the miracle of the atonement was fulfilled by faith, both ours and Christ’s. Therefore, your supposition of our role in Christ’s atonement is making more sense to me. Thank you for stimulating my thoughts on this important subject.

Thank you Bro Dunford... I was so excited when I saw this pop up in my feed... an early Christmas present :-) 2 thoughts as I have started to study the Atonment more deeply... 1 Pres Nelsons conference talk really changed me... I am so use to focusing on all of the big negative parts of the second coming and the Atonement but the real majesty is the joy and connection of love... #2 studying and trying to understand the Atonement reminds me of trying to understand love... there is so much to it and we only get just a sliver of it in mortality... Godly love is such a part of the Atonment... the better we can understand Godly love the more we understand the Atonment... many blessings Bro Dunford and looking forward to the next installment

Thank you for this great teaching. 🥰To learn that the cells of the baby and the mother are "interconnected" made me realize that abortion is a much more serious matter than we may be aware. I mean women who claim access to free abortion because their body belong to them are not aware that abortion will in a certain way harm their own body too. I can see again that following the laws of God is much more than a simple obedience, it is a matter of life saving. I like the way you compare the Christ giving birth to each one of us. I understand better the "graving on His Hands" and the fact we are interconnected, Him and each one of us. Thank you for the time you take and the means you share freely to teach us. 🥰

So beautiful!!! Yes, I have always believed this in my heart and soul. He is a one on one God. He knows us better than we know ourselves because He saw us while He suffered for us and I also believe He remembered knowing us and raising us as spirit children in the pre mortal existence. And His deep love for us is what got Him through the suffering. No words can express the emotions I feel from knowing this. All I know is I want to serve and worship Him for eternity!!!❤️❤️❤️ This video made me weep. Thank you!!

This was amazing. Recently I was pondering the Savior's atonement and in my mind I saw Him on the cross and I saw His blood but as I pondered more, it was something in his blood cells and I felt like there was something about or in His blood cells that was connected to me and in a very real way was healing me but I didn't know how until you explained it and it made so much sense. You helped me realize why I kept seeing his blood and what the significance of that was. Thank you Bro. Bryce for sharing your knowledge and insights with us!

Thank you for this beautiful new awareness of how totally connected we are to the savior. I never knew about that phenomenon of babies healing mothers while they carry them. And isn’t it interesting that when we go through the veil in the temple, the Lord‘s hand comes through the navel mark? That’s another example of mortal birth being a divine type of Christ’s atonement.

Brother Bryce, thanks for this discussion! And hearkening to the invitation from President Nelson! I have made a similar goal to study the Atonement once a week. I've been on Neal A Maxwell feeding frenzy lately, also reading everything i can get my hands on from him. I've noticed Elder Bednar had done so in recent years as well by his topics of choice. He once said that the awful arithmetic of the Atonement of Christ is enormity multiplied by infinity. So there really can be no end to our study of His Atonement
