It's like the costs just keep climbing every year - rent, repayments, food, bills, taxes... It feels like the government should cut us some slack on taxes; it's getting harder to manage everything.

For sure, inflation kicks in when they print money, not when we spend it. It's getting trickier to stay on top of expenses, no doubt.

It would indeed be advantageous if the government heeded its citizens; however, the current system seems to be lacking. Despite that, I've been able to maintain my financial stability quite effectively. The thought of early retirement has even crossed my mind.

@@Bewilderdashed11 Starting from a very low base and top-down, centralized government military spending. Their 5% vs our 1% growth rate (these figures are inaccurate) hardly tell the story. 9.1% inflation (10% food), 19% interest rates, and a collapsing currency (it was 26 rubles to the dollar when Putin took power in 1991) and a severe labor shortage (4.8 million-their figures-exacerbated by the "SMO") hardly bespeak a vibrant and thriving economy. Plus they're spending 8% of their GDP or 40% of their budget on non-productive military assets at the expense of the rest of the economy. Compare to U.S. 4% GDP or 12% of the budget. Even using your erroneous figures, how much is $28 trillion U.S. GDP x 1% vs. $2.25 trillion Russian GDP x 5%?. Russian economy is all smoke and mirrors or "dark fantasy" as "Econ Lessons" points out. You should check him out as well as Joe Blogs if you want to get the scoop on the true state of the Russian economy.

GDP in free fall, 80% of Muscovites living below the poverty line, refineries and power grid 60% incinerated. 102 thousand pieces of war, such as howitzers, vehicles, S400/500, planes, helicopters, ships 😅 Go, go, go, go, Ukrainian heroes, go Crimea has always been and will always be free Ukraine 🇺🇦🔱🇺🇦

The guy is very interesting and very well-informed. He is also however a product of his upbringing. He really does see the world through the propaganda of Russia can never be defeated. Across the pond however there is a country who was once 13 struggling colonies who wanted independence from the world's superpower. They were outnumbered and outgunned, but they wanted their independence and every person in their army was willing to give their life. Verses a paid for army, that didn't really care about the cause. Those struggling colonies never could have won that war without help from their friend, France. The same is happening now in Ukraine. And we those struggling colonies, now the new world superpower, are their friend. As the two of these commentators discuss the situation that seems futile and depressingly in favor of Russia, allow me to share an alternative prediction. In November VP Harris will win the US election. All of Putin's grooming of trump and all of his bot farms have failed. The sane American majority will come to the aid of Ukraine in overdrive. The next missile that hits Poland accidentally will be considered an attack on Poland and we will enter the war as required by our NATO obligations. If Putin sets off one small nuke, we will consider that damage to Germany Poland and the other surrounding NATO countries in the form of radiation and we will use that as pretense to enter this war. Within a week we will take out all of Putin's nuclear capability, we will destroy all of his nuclear subs with our new underwater drone program, we will allow Ukraine to have the honor of killing Putin personally. Then we will install a democracy as we did in Germany and Japan after world war II. The Russian people will love us and become our new trading partners. Ukraine will become part of NATO and enjoy secure Independence regaining all of its territories including Crimea. That is my prediction. You heard it here first.

This distinction was first made by grammarian Robert Baker in 1770, and has been promulgated by many grammarians since then2. Less is the comparative form of little and is used especially before uncountable nouns, while fewer is the comparative of few and is used before plural nouns3. If you cannot count the quantity of something, use the word “less.” If you can count the individual units, use “fewer” Yes, Russia's economy is in shambles.

@stuartbailey9287
@stuartbailey9287 3 күн бұрын
Think the larger concern of the RU central bank is that on their own figures the money supply increased by 23% in 2023. GDP increased by about 5% so in classical economic theory that is 18% more money chaseing goods which will eventually work through into the inflation figure somewhere around 18% or double the current one unless manufacturers and retailers take a hit. Too add too problem increase in GDP is all plus more down too increased military production and things like repairing blown up oil depots, building new railways/cities in occupied Ukraine which do not actually help supply of normal goods in Russia while cost of imports has also shot upwards due to decline in value of the Ruble against the Yuan and Rupee as well as the Dollar. On Russian Central Banks own figures factory gate prices up 14% and price of petrol at pump up 25% so as these work through expect Russian inflation rate too go a lot higher than 9% over all and much, much higher in some sectors. Expect increase in cost of Tanks to remain fairly reasonable while cost of say eggs and airline tickets out of Russia to be lot higher than say 18%. Never seen such a odd mix of really tight monatary policy by central bank combined with such loose fiscal policy by rest of Russian Government...........I am taking advise of Chechen commander and have my popcorn and watching to see how this weird policy mix plays out.
