Sunderland are ones to watch, why? They are not playing their best at the min, a bit of a slump in form and are still getting points from games, that is a sign of a very good team/coach/set up. Last season, no way would sunderland have got anything from these games
@michaelbowers54117 күн бұрын
I initially interpreted your comment as having a dig at us, but having read it properly, I now see what you meant. Last season we were awfully mismanaged & while to be fair I didn’t expect us to be within a shout of top two at Christmas (at least before the festive period anyway), I always felt our team was good enough for playoffs if we addressed certain things within the side. All this having sold Jack Clarke as well. His replacements effectively, Romaine Mundle & Tommy Watson both currently out injured too. As for Norwich, didn’t make much of them yesterday but I also think Jack & Chris have a point about McLean & Sargent making a difference when both return. For me, when everyone is fit, Norwich have a side capable of challenging playoffs. But that’s just an outsiders view yet someone is who is a fan of this channel.
@psmith7727117 күн бұрын
@michaelbowers541 yeah, what i was getting at was tbe games where sunderland have had a draw or just scraped the win this season, last season tbey would of lost them games. They had a great start to this season. But dropped off slightly, difference is with the little drop off they are still picking up points. After the year i think sunderland will knock it up a gear and be within a chance of autos.
@michaelbowers54115 күн бұрын
@@psmith77271 sorry for the late reply. Thought I had replied to this but obviously didn’t. While many of the draws we had were very frustrating (Coventry & Millwall respectively considering the late equalisers in both games), they could be massive come the end of the season. If we’re still in the mix for automatics going into the window & particularly if we do well in January then it could be very encouraging. As for Norwich, a couple of really winnable games for you. Big week ahead is it fair to say?

I really feel (and I've said this before) that Borja is holding us back as a team. Obviously a wonderful player, but more and more he seems to be just trying to do it all on his own. The amount of times yesterday he went straight into a defender whilst missing really obvious attacking passes that were on, and in some cases just straight up losing the ball. There will be games where he randomly scores lots of worldies for us, and he will be rightly praised (and absolutely nailed on for PotS), but I keep thinking back to the early days of the Farke era and how much better we looked when we lost James Maddison, even though we were super depressed about it at the time. Overall I agree with you Jack, we're not far away, mistakes are costing us a lot of points, we're playing really well but not capitalising on our chances, and these injuries and suspensions are just absolutely killing us. Fix those issues and we're suddenly 20-30 points up the table. Keep the faith!

@@chrissoames3410as a Sunderland fan I was supremely disappointed by him yesterday. I was bigging him up to my Dad and looking forward to him v O'Nien 1v1 before Kick-Off. He made 1 half decent through ball that went out for a goal kick and the rest of the time he spent obviously diving which I was gobsmacked that the ref blew his way for numerous times. A better ref and he'd have been carded twice for the theatrics. One your point about being a better team without him, I had a lot of detractors last Season within the Sunderland fan base whenever I stated that we'd be a better team without Jack Clarke, including my Dad n brother who said I was stupid lol. My point was that even under Mowbray our entire play went down the Left Wing to Clarke, and yes he'd scored the most goals but that was because he was the only person being fed the ball and he was also on Penalties. This was also borne out in the fact that Patrick Roberts didn't score in the entirety of last Season n only for 2 assists. Since Clarke left we've brought through 2 extremely good Left Wingers in Romaine Mundle and Tommy Watson who've both been Man of the Match a number of times and have both been Match Winners. Sadly they're both currently injured but yesterday when Roberts was switched to the Left he played the best he has for 2 years. The team as a whole has had better chemistry and has been more free flowing with people all over the pitch chipping in with goals and assists, all of that to say that is why I agree with your assessment that yous could be a better team without Saínz. Sometimes you add my subtracting, and take away his dives yesterday and winding our players up and Norwich might have come away with a result because being as pissed off as the Sunderland players were with Saínz trying to get them and even Régis Le Bris sent off, there was no way they were allowing him to come away with even a point.

Having travelled to Sunderland yesterday, and sat through the 90 mins, I was disappointed. Shocking game management from our players, especially Cordoba. Not seen it back but looked like we should've had at least 1 pen for handball. I don't like to be negative about such a good player, but it was the worst game I've seen Sainz play for us. He looked disinterested and lost the ball more times than I could count!! It was a replica of the Burnley game tbh. January can't come soon enough because this squad needs help. He'll never make it in the Premier League if he acts like that against a challenging team, doesn't matter how many he'll score this Season. Also, wasn't a handball in a million years and if u wanna talk about penalty what-ifs Sunderland had a couple better shouts that were worse tackles than Cordoba's first (I didn't see his 2nd as looked away briefly) & definitely worse than tackles that Saínz "won" free kicks from.

BUT, from that game want I can say is "they are a bunch of cheaters made of rice crispies". Every battle for the ball and Sainz would be on the floor for no reason. There was a moment early on where Ballard got kicked in the head - fine after 20 seconds. On the other side, Sainz gets battled off the ball TWICE by O'nien - drops to the floor clutching his face. Don't get me wrong he's a great player on an upwards trajectory but he was genuinely embarrassing all game

As a Sunderland fan who enjoys this channel and the banter between Jack and Chris, I have to say, Norwich are a bang average outfit. We were nowhere near at our best, but the better sides don't need to be to win. Norwich miss Sargent naturally but we are missing many players, Mundle, Watson, Samed and Abdullahi are back in the coming weeks, thankfully. Norwich seem like a bit of a nothing team, not in a horrible way, in the sense that they look neat and tidy, they can pop the ball around well, in all the areas that don't matter, so heavily reliant on Sainz, if he has an off day, which he did yesterday, soent more time rolling around and sulking, then Norwich are just no real threat. All the best for the season ahead and have a great Christmas
