CONCERNS RAISED FROM NORWICH CITY'S PRE-SEASON?

Tbh things have been grim since the last season in the Prem. I am excited that there is a new direction, plan and personnel - although JHT needs to get his style of player in and hopefully a couple can arrive in this window. If the first ten or fifteen minutes from St. Pauli are indicative of how his team will play, I think we have exciting times in the future.

Obviously as an outsider looking in Norwich are going for the 'modern' approach signing younger players, taking gambles but I can see this being a year where Norwich finish midtable but sticking with Johannes Thorup and then coming up next season

Realistically we will do well to make the top 10 this season. I wish I could be more optimistic - maybe JHT will deliver some surprises - let's hope so.

We definitely need to bring in at least another 3/4 signings. A replacement for Sara, a DM, CF, & possibly a left-footer CB. Also, accounting for transfers/loans out.

Another extremely underwhelming transfer window. My biggest concern is we only have 1 untested left back in Chrisene and only 2 strikers if Idah goes, one of which is injured.

very concerned with the lack of incoming players when serious holes need to be plugged, ok a defence signing is nice but we need more, and who is replacing sara and being a back up striker if we get plagued by injuries again?

Starting xi is hard because I don't really understand yet what thorup wants to do. - Gunn obv in goal - two cbs, who knows who - Stacey on the right. But does thorup see him as the high playing wing back delivering crosses when in possession, or as the inverted into basically an extra cb? Thorup seems to have previously liked one of each. I'm not convinced Jack is great for either role. Prove me wrong, Jack! But I wonder if Fisher will take over from him across the season - a new lb, to do one of the above roles. - Mclean and Nunez to start in the middle. With gibbs? fingers crossed thorup can coach him into a world beating cdm. More likely he'll need to buy one. Thorup seems to like his midfield three to start build up almost as a triple pivot, with one of them breaking forward to part of a front 5 along with one of the wbs as they progress. I actually think Nunez could really fly in this system. -Rowe, Sainz and Sargent pick themselves as a front 3. Which one where depends on wing backs and opponents, I'm guessing.

Yeah losing Sara makes squad look thin. Can the impact of the style change and better coaching overall compensate for that? We’ll see. At the moment, I am assuming Cordoba won’t play against Oxford, which leaves us with a near identical squad minus our best player.

While I can understand your defensive concerns I don't think you should put too much into pre-season. Apart from Northampton, your opponents have all been against Championship standard or better, so I do think you'll be relatively well prepared. Having said that, Oxford away on the opening day won't be a walkover. It's theif first home game at this level in more than 25 years and they'll be so much up for it. I also do think that you'll probably be slow starters this season because of transition and new ideas that will take a bit of time to settle with the players, but I don't see you lower than 10th or so.

Definitely need a left back, centre back and a creative midfielder at the very least. Plus another striker even in the unlikely event Idah stays and having an unhappy striker at the club how effective or useful will he be ???

I think we are going to be flirting with the relegation zone this season. And I do believe that we are favourites to get relegated to League One. But I do have hopes of us staying away from the relegation zone and to finish mid table and forget about top 6.
