Nurses Bethany Hutchison and Lisa Lockey, who were forced out of their changing rooms after complaining about a trans colleague, say the NHS trust believe it's "easier to bully the women".
"They haven't actually solved the problem... instead we get ostracised!"
The Darlington Memorial Hospital workers launched legal action in June for alleged sexual harassment against County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
The nurses argue that they are advocating for women's safe spaces.
"It puts us at a huge risk because we can't tell who is a predator or not!"

I think Alex answered the fundamental issue here when she spoke of this transgender indivdual as someone who "was born biologically male who now identifies as a woman" The substantive words here are "identifies as" You can "identify" as anything you like, but that doesn't make your identity a real one and it's about time the NHS and other institutions stopped trundling down Alice's rabbit hole and came back into the real world. I have sympathy for those with genuine gender dysphoria but I'm afraid I do not believe that all these adult males who purport to be women have this condition. If they were truly women they'd have the psychological makeup of women, and if they had a psychologically female mind they would completely understand why women don't want fully intact biological males in their changing rooms, regardless of what they are wearing or who they think they are. They would understand the inherent and evolutionary need women have for both privacy and self-protection. By forcing their way into women's single-sex spaces regardless of how it makes women feel they are proving that they are not what they claim to be.

Might I ask why one apparently lecherous pretender has caused so much worry amongst the female nursing staff in their safe female space whilst changing from "civvies" to uniform that the employer has decided that the many should be displaced to substandard facilities to enable the pretender to continue pretending. I never worked for the nhs post-registration but had placements there as a student nurse. We had the importance of dignity drummed into us in the class and in placement. Nobody cared about OUR dignity. Male patients deciding they can’t comfortably wash their genitals or “chasing the nurses finger”. Both trans identified people and women can be treated fairly. This is a false scarcity ``issue`` considering that there are significantly more staff that are women than there are trans identified staff. If there was an area to remove women from the women`s vulnerable areas who didn`t not consent to share a vulnerable space with a male, then there was space to accommodate the trans identified male. Instead, they will inconvenience ALL the women and bottle neck the women into a tiny space that is logically more suitable for the one person. Except, they did not bar the trans identified male from that alternative space either. So, the trans identified male has access to the male facilities, the female facilities AND the neutral facilities, but the women have no space of their own despite being the demographic for which divided spaces exist to protect. Yet again, the feelings of trans identified males trumps the safety of women.

One tactical response to this invasion of your personal space would be to leave the woman/man in the changing room, and you yourselves find another room to act as your changing room - if women staff in the hospital caught on to this and acted in a general sense of solidarity then the managment would be caught in an uncomfortable position as they can't force you to use the (women's) changing rooms if you object like this. The other point that always occurs to me in these situations is this simple question of accountability - Who is accountable here for the woman/man who is making women nervous, and who takes responsibility for an 'incident'? The management...? Or would they distance themselves and hide under a collective rock, pretending it has absolutely nothing to do with them? _Forcing_ this sort of a situation onto your majority-women staff is unethical. But worse still is the lack of any accountability by that management... the cowardice.

Id like to just point out the headline on the bottom of the screan uses the term " trans woman" there is no such a thing as "trans woman" proper name is TRANSVESTITE. Sneaking the word woman in description of that individuals indicate that somehow we acknowledge that in some part that person is a woman witch HE is not. And that leads to situations lile that. Trans people are not "trans women" or "trans man" they are Male or female TRANSVESTITE.
