Tons and tons of housing blocks have gone up over the years in London, they told us that there was 7-8 million residing in London in the 70’s-80’s and they’re still giving out those same numbers even with all the extra people living there. The sewers and infrastructure was built in the Victorian times for a fraction of who live there now so it’s no wonder it’s struggling as all that water from those high rises and sewerage has go somewhere and has none.

Legally the pension is now called a contributory benefit - so it's based on contributions, just like a private pension scheme. It is definitely not a benefit in the traditional sense of the word, but the government moved it into the DWP to manage it, being a totally tactical move on their part, to push the idea that ppl do not deserve it etc etc.

The problem is with that, is someone who grew up in a council estate and didn't study politics at Eton or such like, doesn't know the ins and outs of economics to be able to manage an entire economy. Well I've got nearly a full pension but I only payed around 6 months national insurance in any one year, all you actually need to pay is 3 months stamp. You need to understand if you don't get a good pension you can ask for pension credit which they don't want you to do, so generally they just give you nearly the full pension anyway ? Go figure

I am 2 *years* post spinal surgery, where I was left unable to walk. I am still waiting for a wheelchair. My husband is a veteran, we barely had the money to raise our children on his ft amd my pt job, we have paid tax, he laid his life on the line. Yet here we are, in a house the council wont help convert, we have spent his entire pension on making our home accesible, we have run out of money, the council are charging us to change the front door to open out (so I can leave my house) in THEIR property, that we pay rent on and have spent 50k adapting. Yet they have money to burn on so much BS! I'm done. I'm exhausted. I really don't have much fight left. 🇬🇧

I worked in London for 25 years and got my first ever speeding fine,I was doing 28 mph going over Tower Bridge at 5 am in the morning. I was the only vehicles on the bridge and they told me I got the fine because they were protecting a national monument. Of course it wasn’t the money they wanted.
