The marches had 2 apparent main purposes. To demand a cease-fire and to stop the genocide. It took 15 months to get to a tentative cease-fire, but only after Hamas had their backs against the wall, and the Gaza population went from 2.3 million to 2.3 million. Hostages have started to be returned, but only because Israel pummelled Hamas into the ground and the ridiculous notion of a genocide is equalling that of the famous "nakba". It appears to all and sundry, that the real purpose of the weekly marches, was to prevent hostages from being returned. I think that's about as disgusting as it gets.
