I have some sympathy for that. I'm 61 and able to self-fund early retirement. I was self employed. I refuse to earn money simply so that I can be forced to pay taxes to fund the destruction of my country. I don't believe pensions willl be available when I turn 67. So makes more sense to enjoy life whilst I still can. By the time my money runs out I honestly don't think I'll be wanting to remain alive - this country is going to the dogs. I've always been a saver - rather than spend I save for the future. There is no future now. We've been betrayed too many times. The government is screwing us over - so I don't blame people that try to get in first. Lets face it - if the money doesn't go to them it'll go to an illegal migrant. It's not as if they're stealing from their own people.

Unfortunately the right wing media have little interest in getting to the truth of the matter. The Daily Mail will print its annual story about a mum on benefits who’s had her bum and tits done at the tax payers expense. Then the folk who buy into this nonsense believe that everyone on benefits is living the high life and it’s a choice. Remember when the precious government tried to say homelessness was a lifestyle choice? That’s the same level as this lot.

Recruitment company dwp contacted to "help" people find work a) never bothered b) the dwp then put me in disability due to my many health conditions...stating no employer would touch me with a bargepole, despite many job interviews etc. The last job interview i was pretty successful but dwp refused me a "buddy" to help me in workplace with things i struggle with. Those who are on esa for example due to health issues are going to be punished by these ridiculous laboir schemes . Maybe they should stop giving illegaal immigrants benefits and other freebies left right and center. They don't work unless it's cash in hand work where they pay no taxes. This goes back to the 70s if not before. At the time I managed a small factory and the dole office would send people down to apply for our vacancies. A good example is the one who came for interview wearing a filthy raincoat, wellingtons and a hat with straw actually poking out from under it. He really wanted a job. Of those we took on they would manage the first couple of weeks, then 4 days, then 3 and finally they would disappear. The dole office would then ring up and ask why we had sacked them only to be told that we hadn't, they just didn't turn up for work. Someone I went to school with worked the benefits system all his life. He had umpteen kids and relied on the council to house him. they even converted two adjoining semis into one house for his massive family. He now receives a state pension with added benefits.

If those that need it can afford that extra extra-large burger and chips with drink, then they can forego that and afford their own flipping jabs. Or simply stop eating. In the meantime, those who continue to eat will merely think 'oh great I can carry on 'cos I am going to get an injection'. Doctor on £22k full time? Not in the NHS. A new Foundation Year 1 doctor, fresh out of uni has a basic salary of £32,398 rising to £37303 in their FY2 year and that is before any unsocial hours uplift. In Scotland its £31082 for FY1 and bigger uplift £38353 in FY2. Wales and Northern Ireland might deviate a bit from this too. However...utter nonsense that a new doctor in full time employment is on £22k a year.

The cost of living is too high and the wages are too low. Its been a while since i lived in the Uk but from what i could tell, ppl get onto the benefits then get stuck because to come off them they need to cover the costs and since companies offer part time jobs at a low rate ppl cant afford to work.

One of the first things that needs to change is raising the minimum wage where, even in the lowliest job, a worker can take home a decent wage.... no one working should need government assistance! Start limiting how much companies can pay in dividends for a start. Almost all companies put investor profits above everything else.... which usually means lobbying the government to keep wages artificially low, using the same old excuses as to why or threatening to leave the UK. When a person can sit at home in comfort all day, have their rent paid for, pay less council tax, and have just enough money to live on, why would they go to work if they are in almost the same situation after working a 40hr week.... rents are extremely high(partly because of investors buying properties), taxes are high(and will get higher), energy is getting higher, shopping costs getting higher....everything getting higher in price except wages/salaries.... what's the incentive to earn an extra £50-£100 a month after paying all your bills compared to being on benefits? Invest in people, not multimillion companies!

A doctor's starting salary in the NHS depends on their training level and specialty: Foundation training: The basic salary for a doctor in their first year of training is £32,398, and in their second year it's £37,303. Specialist training: The basic salary for a doctor starting specialist training is £43,923, and can progress to £63,152. Specialty doctors: The basic salary for a specialty doctor is £52,530 to £82,400. Specialist grade doctors: The basic salary for a specialist grade doctor is £83,945 to £92,275. Consultants: The basic salary for a consultant is £99,532 to £131,964. General practitioners (GPs): The salary for a salaried GP is £68,975 to £104,085.

Encourage them how? Financially economical to work? In this country unless you earn over 40000 it is hard, depressing and you are just surviving - not living. UK Wages = too low Travel costs alone nearly 500 a month for me in my last job on a train (always late/cancelled etc) for which caused me problems at work and made me Stressed and Sick (how the hell can I be reprimanded for the failing train systems?). Cost of living too high = depression and illness I will not have my tax paying for a war and a load of immigrants when my children have not seen by a dentist an NHS in 4 years. I've put a lot of tax in over the years working for the NHS and this country is failing and my children have no future here. As with their friends my children will leave the UK and pursue professional careers and lives abroad.

The main reason people work is to pay rent or mortgage for a home as they want somewhere to call their own which is a basic need. But there is a massive shortage of social housing and private rentals and doing a minimum wage job you will never be able to afford to get on the housing ladder to buy your own home either. So if your not able to have somewhere to live, wat are you working for?

I am disabled, I have twisted bones and live with chronic pain and it affects my ability to walk and the muscular pain affects balance, vision and I have very limited lung capacity,. A doctor judged me as unfit to work and to be fair this lovely dr encouraged me to accept my own limitations. A big portion of my benefits goes on medical treatment to manage my symptoms and these symptoms have resulted in me needing treatment for depression. The point i want to make is whilst I do agree the benefits system probably is abused at times and sometimes people can work who don’t there are also many honest people who worked until the pain literally floored us who are grateful for our desperately needed benefits. I just don’t want vulnerable people with disabilities that have no choice about that and can’t be fixed to suffer because obese people refuse to put any effort into losing weight , conditions caused my overeating, alcohol , smoking or drug abuse are self imposed conditions which is very different to having a disability we have no choice in.
