The Talk REACTS to 'Wagatha Christie' Rebekah Vardy interview

Rebekah Vardy has claimed she felt ‘bullied’ in court after losing her libel case against Coleen Rooney in an interview with The News Desk on Talk TV this evening.
She also revealed she suffered a huge amount of online abuse during the 'Wagatha Christie' trial and explained in detail how the experience affected her and her family.

I have looked at some of the interview and the questions were not probing at all with regard to matters of fact on the substance of the case and her specific actions pertinent to those facts. There was an awful lot about her feelings and her health and so on, and some factual disclosures about other aspects of her life and situation, but nothing of any relevance related to the specific detail of the case itself, what she did and when, why she did it, and so on. That is the view I formed from the third to a half of the interview I looked at. I did not bother with the rest because I thought it very unlikely anything would be revealed of any relevance. If I were to summarise Vardy's general approach and presentation, I would say it was just 'Poor me ... please feel for me ... (etc.) ". I don't think she has done herself any favours with this interview at all.

Terrible interviewer. She was soft on Vardy. Didn't push nor really challenge Vardy on the verdict and the judges summing up and verdict. If I didn't know more about this case and only relied on this interview, I'd think that Vardy was a victim and hard done by.

I seems to be getting more common for public figures to claim they considered suicide in order to get the media off their backs. There is a huge range of ‘considering suicide’, from a passing thought to a determined plan but to claim it falsely belittles the people who really are suffering immensely and really do need help and compassion. It’s also got to be terrifying for that person’s loved ones especially their children.

Don’t like either of them but just remember that this was the same court that jailed a certain someone for protecting his daughter, that wrongly judged on another certain someone’s domestic violence accusation and has a litany of corrupt judges. It was hard not to come to the conclusion of bias when the judge took certain statements as absolute, yet others were cast out without opportunity to oppose. Just glad the case wasn’t really important for anyone.
