Maresca is manager of the year, he inherited a squad that were either all new to each other or had spent the previous season injured. What every pundit described as anarchy has become the obvious intelligent thing to do. A team that looked like it would be torn apart by racism has now evolved into probably the most comraderie squad in the league from almost every part of the world, all knowing their part in the machine and the process for a successful project. The closest past player I can liken Palmer to is Berbatov with how laidback he is, the assured confidence bordering on cockiness, so smooth on the ball, ridiculous vision. What Palmer has over Berba, though, is the desire, attitude, and commitment. Berba was great, but he's remembered as lazy for a reason. Palmer just reminds me a lot of him, but better.

For Caicedo playing as inverting RB to work, you need a pacy right footed CB to play on the right side of the back three when Caicedo inverts. It didn’t work well in the first half against spurs because we had Badiashille in that role and he is very left footed. He couldn’t progress play with his right down the right flank. He had to either pass back to Colwill/Sanchez or dangerously into midfield. It made it easy for Spurs to press us. I personally wouldn’t mind giving Disasi a chance there. It’s an awesome set up that will allow us dominate games with all three of Enzo Caicedo Lavia on the pitch

The total money spent on the squad is obscured by the fact they tried to go all out and force that first window into a competitive team, as soon as that failed they changed the policy, got those players out quickly and starting a more reasonable policy. As a Chelsea fan, I was so frustrated with the direction of the club. I cut them some slack due to the reason as to why Clearlake took over. I never hated the signings, I was just appalled by how bad everyone played, no one had any passion to win. The recruitment looked terrible because the management was terrible. Maresca brought a calmness to this. Clearlake did a moneyball approach without the most important part to make it work, the coach/manager. Now they have that and this experiment looks SO much better. Thank you, Enzo Maresca.
