In "theory", every PL manager should take the Man Utd job. You could argue that every manager other than the Real Madrid manager should take the Utd job if offered if the only measurement is the size of the club. However, that is not the only thing that matters. Salary isn't an issue since all the top clubs are load so Utd aren't going to be offering something insane that other clubs can't match. In terms of opportunity, Utd are a mid-table team with a title winning budget so in theory there is plenty of opportunity there. But how is the club set up to succeed? What kind of background politics do you have to deal with? What time and space will you be given to put forward what you want to do? All those things should come out during interviews, etc. Then you have to think on career trajectory. Other than Sir Alex, there is not a single manager who as left the club on a positive note or went on to better things once they left Utd. So if you're thinking about the job if we assume you get all answers you need you know what choice is. Do you think you can take THIS Man Utd (not the one from 20 years ago) to win league and European titles? If the answer is yes you take the job. If the answer is maybe or no, then you have to decide if risking your career at the highest level is worth it and then it comes down to where you are in your career. If your Potter and out of work you should take it, if your Emery and flying with Villa I'd say your alot less likely. And that's where Man Utd are now. No longer the final destination for top players and managers. They are a club where everything is a risk and those at the very top are likely to stay away since that risk is too great.
