TTMIK is such a dynamic platform to learn. It's obviously very resourceful. I would have never known that 당신 word should not be used like that until I found it in TTMIK. Such contents are so helpful. Thankful to the teachers and staff behind the scenes working to bring out such contents...you guys are amazing.! I'm missing 승원 선생님.! Please tell him I'm his big fan...One day I will surely meet 승원 선생님 and go for backpacking with him..😬😅💝

I think its probably a great sign that i learned some of these recently on my own! I came up with the question about 를/을 필요해 vs 이/가 필요해 on my own and my korean tutor cleared it up exactly as you said, then i looked up the info for how/when/why 싶어해 is used on my own recently too

in regards to Rule 1: I am the one non Korean person at my work. And when I am brave enough to say things in Korean to them, they get UPSET when I speak to them formally and they like to remind me were the same age and friends. I almost cried trying to explain to them that, unfortunately, most people I meet I cannot speak casually to, and to please understand that I need to " practice my yo's " hahahah

I must say that at this point, your voice sounds very familiar to me haha I think I would recognize it even sooner than some of singers xD I have been with TTMIK from the beginning, I think. It was a small website with free pdf and an mp3 files.. You were my first teachers of Korean and I can't find anyone else. You made everything so easy for understanding and despite English not being my native language, I learned more from you than any other sites in my own language. SO, thank you so much for teaching us! You are the best!

정말 흥미로운 비디오이네요. 선생님, 저는 질문이 있는데요. Mistake 11에 대해 말하면 '걱정 마세요'하고 '걱정하지 마세요'는 어떻게 다릅니까? 🤔
@user-ic1kg6zk6z
@user-ic1kg6zk6z Күн бұрын
As a native speaker both meaning are same. But "걱정 마세요" sounds little bit awkward I think tha I usually use "걱정 마요" p.s. From your first sentence "정말 흥미로운 비디오이네요" you can use "영상" instead of using "비디오". It will make the sentence more native. Keep working on your learning you will make it

Point 7- In English, in some dialects, (perceived as 'lower level class') we also use 'our John' / 'our mam' / 'our grandad' ('our' often pronounced as 'are' or 'ah')- would only work with casual ref to the relative** within the family, or within your social area. You could use it talking to the taxman, but it's not the best if you need to be specific for a business matter, and not if you particularly want to be taken seriously. ** an 'upper class' person, or one being sure to show they have siblings might say 'our mother' more formally - but the are making a 'social point', I'd say.

"...'our' often pronounced as 'are' or 'ah'..." What? That makes no sense. Please refrain from confusing people.
@hazelhyman1680
@hazelhyman1680 3 күн бұрын
@@iu2 I am a 66 year old former teacher of German and French. Born and brought up in the area around Manchester in England. I mentioned dialects in my post. There is no desire on my part to confuse! The pronunciation of 'our' (used by our Royal family, I might add) is 'are'...itself pronounced 'ah' ...short 'a' as in 'awake' and the 'r' more like you are thinking of saying the letter, but not quite doing it...the effect is 'ah'. That's just how it is, I'm afraid. Back to 'our': there are dialects that pronounce 'our' more like 'a-wuh'....which in those dialects will have 'our' (possessive) and 'hour' (time) both sounding like 'a-wuh'. The Royals would day both as 'are/ah'. Brits trying to speak in a sort of American accent would generally pronounce 'our' as 'awr'...but in England, most 'er/ar/or' endings are not sounded as an 'r'......river:: ri-vuh ...... collector :: collectuh ....radar:: ra-dah ... singer:: singuh:: pillar:: pillah If a vowel follows, you probably will HEAR in our sloppy English (not with the Royals, though) the ending 'r' tagged onto the next word! SOUND examples NOT as written properly !: 'a collectuh_rof (of, pronounced ov!!) stamps'; 'a pilluh_rof ice'; 'they aimed the ra-dah_rover the sea'. These are quite minor issues, though... In trying to learn Korean, it's hard at times to know what ISN'T pronounced as 't'!!
