Thanks a load for the idea, never would have thought of boiling twine to separate the sisal, it’s genius.

I use this to make bushes, add branches to birch and willow trees, make reeds, weeds, flowers and even to add branches to plastic tree armatures. Sometime I spray the fibers with glue and drop on static grass. That gives them more points onto which I can add foliage - fine turf or leaves. I even used it to make a model with a thatched roof. That was fun.. I displayed it and someone made me an offer I would have been nuts to turn down. But looking back I wish I had been nuts.

Thank you very much, sir, for all your advices. They are gold in bar ! I use horse hair for my tall grass, but boiling sisal fiber would be a positive game changer for me. Merci beaucoup ! Best regards from the south of France. You've got a new subscriber !
