If you want a screen that tolerates walnuts, plant wild plum. I have done this accidentally and they thrive and 2 rows thick provide quite a screen. Fruit is gone before the season.

I left some of mine standing in March and didn’t mow it off , and I’m not gonna lie it’s the best looking miscanthus I have now!!! I’d reccomend trying some of yours like that. Don’t mow or burn it off and see how it does. It thicken mine up

You got anything on late planted switch grass. I believe I seen where u planted in mid August.i think that will be better being more moisture and less weeds.
