Blind a shining star Ye won't see so far Know what can't be shown Feel what can't be known I was a victim of magic, Apollo Catching my breath as I bled on the ground Somebody called me to follow, I followed Thinking alound without hearing a sound When all the planets fall to dust Lonely departing after us Gone not forgotten Long but forgotten In every element of life Love camouflages under strife Or other matters Not only matter Let there be more Blind a shining star Ye won't see so far Know what can't be shown Feel what can't be known Maybe we'll tango [tangle] tomorrow The sorrow Sweeping us up as our mother replies Suddenly, everything flowing My [like] water Clearer than all we can see With all thine eyes (Interlude) Why do traveling tumbleweeds arrive? @@salteeth By Belafonte I mean Harry Belafonte! Joe is clearly influenced by the musician Harry Belafonte, who is a famous musician active from the 50s onward. The influence comes through strongest on "Banana Man", which Joe readily admits. Its not hard to figure out though, Belafonte's most famous song is the famous "Day-O (Banana Boat Song)". I think at this stage in the album's construction he was planning for it to be a lot more "tropical" than the final product turned out to be. The deeper but swinging vocal quality here seems to be an attempt to emulate, if not exactly replicate, Belafonte's style. You'll notice the quality of Joe's voice is very similar to the way he was singing in Banana Man, minus the affected grammar.

WHY IS THIS SUCH A BANGER NO MATTER WHAT 💥💥💥💥 (Isle Unto Thyself is my favorite as well as Dream Sweet in Sea Major) It's clear that they made this song from mostly if not all first person to mostly second person as someone talking about someone else instead of themself which actually is kind of a theme with Miracle Musical vs. Tally Hall Miracle Musical tended to have this second person point of view because the music is written from an outsiders point of view while Tally Hall sounds like first person because it's heavily written in a way where It's the firsthand account of someone who was directly affected I probably sound insane but whatever 💀

i think i like the final better than this. it gives the questioning lyrics more of a questioning tone to them and i think the change from "i" to "you" was for the best also "i was a victim of magic apollo" is strangely distant in the final, whereas here its just... there. the instruments i just feel are more flat, i guess they added a little echo in the final. also the final few lyrics having a slower and quieter pace makes them feel more eerie, which i love. but i do like the echo of the song's chorus at the end.
