That is a well known argument for god's existence. He refered to it by its more popular name of "The ontological argument." (Very clever name I know.) But its original and more helpful name is "Anselm's argument," named after Saint Anselm, the originater of the argument. It has been known for nearly a millennia, and even in its first use has been famously refuted by Gaunilo who mocked him with this legendary reply "The mythical lost island in my mind is the greatest or most perfect island. if the island of which we are thinking of does not exist, it cannot be the greatest conceivable island, for, to be the greatest conceivable island, it would have to exist, as any existent island would be greater than an imaginary one." But somehow the likes of Rene Descarte, Kurt Godel and Ibn Sina, (Who were all undoubtly great minds) saw no problem with plain assuming that the being of his description has to be god, or just defining god as an existing thing and saying if it doesn't exist then it isn't god. The philosophy professor probably knows of the argument's clear flaw, along with its many revisions and refutations, considering that Kant himself has provided his own opinion on why it is stupid and why he's tired of hearing about it. I doubt he was seriously boasting it as his own completely unflawed justification for gods existence, and he was likely joking when mentioning it.
