I have a cherry wine Grandstar Custom and they're great still to this day. And although the Tama (like stripes) double bass pedal is long gone, the HH stand still lives, and well. I'm home now playing an electronic kit and it sort of dawned on me, that HH stand is like 35 years old and still going strong with no signs of reaching it's shelf life. That's a testement to the quality, cause I've pounded that thing, dragged it all over gods creation and it's solid as a rock. It's cool to see those patented triangle lugs I know so well.

Super thick shells. Lot of high end, not very resonant. That was my experience with them. A cool, unique sound if that’s your deal.
