Well done my sister for visiting Tamale. You are right, northern Ghana and northern Nigeria have things in common. In fact historically, the ancestor of the Dagomba tribe came from GOMBE the northern state of Nigeria. Our ancestor migrated from Gombe to Zanfara as hunter. He later moved to Mali got married with children. The children then moved to present day Burkina and the locals refer to them as DANGOMBE ('son of Gombe' in Hausa). As time passed by people mispronounce the name as DAGOMBA. Historically I will say the Dagombas are from Hausa lineage. There are similar words of Hausa you will find in Dagbanli. For example Katari, alkawali, Leife, Amarya, sadachi, shinkafa, Kose etc. and names like Wanzam, Zangina and Sanda. They actually share the same culture pertaining to weddings, funerals, costume etc. above all both tribes are predominantly Muslims.
@suglomoh93 Жыл бұрын
we migrated through Nigeria but our origins are actually from east of the Lake Chad and Sudan before that,i disagree with you when you say we are of Hausa lineage,we speak ,understand and communicate fluently in Hausa because most Muslims from Burkina Faso Mali, Niger and Nigeria speak Hausa and we have historically had interactions with these group of people even till this day but we are a distinct group of people from the Hausa.
