Tamarack Quilted Jacket Sew-Along Day 15: Closures

Join us as we sew the the Tamarack Jacket! We originally released the Tamarack Jacket back in 2016 and it has now been drafted in our 14-30 size range. We've also released a collar, hood & patch pockets add-on to help you create the quilted jacket of your dreams.
During this series we'll cover all aspects involved in creating your own Tamarack Jacket. From fabric selection, help with batting, to quilting best practices and assembly, we're covering everything!
This is the last lesson in our series - we're finishing up our jackets with closures! First I'll walk you through attaching your hooks and eyes for View A of the jacket. After that we'll set our snaps for View B. After that you're done with your Tamarack Jacket!

We used Dritz snaps and the setter that comes with it for ours. The punch is called a screw punch and we sell it on our website here: grainlinestudio.com/collections/tools-supplies/products/screw-punch-with-interchangeable-tips

I don’t have a surger. How do I finish the rough side seams

Your machine likely has an overlocker stitch, and if it doesn't it will have a zigzag stitch. You can use those along the raw edge to approximate the finish of a serger and the result looks great!

Could you add a zipper?

You can, we don't have a tutorial for it but you'll need a a separating zipper and you can simply sew it to the back of the binding.
