I'm not even a percussionist and I couldn't stop watching it

Wow, that is simply incredible! It's very organic and relaxed and beautifully to watch with all the elegant movements and highly differentiated techniques. Looks also very complex and a real art that can not be appreciated highly enough. Kudos!

I made the mistake of volunteering for this part in my orchestra. I have barely played any tambourine in my life, however I am hopeful that I will be able to practice with this as guidance. Those techniques are even more complex and diverse then the notation made me anticipate.

That was awesome to see the variety of techniques and the subtly different sounds each makes.😎 Wanna break out my tambo and start shaking that thing, rubbing my thumb across it....

8” Tambourine?

Yes. It is more manageable in the agile passages but I can still get a good volume from it. I´m using a 10" at the end for the finger rolls.

Then people will say that the tambourine is an easy instrument…
