The 12 is very enjoyable, love their House Style. I’ve also had the 15, it’s definitely a great sherried whisky, I’m with you that the Batch Strengths are probably best offerings. When it comes to value/quality, it kicks The Macallan to the curb!

I’ve had this one in my hands multiple times. Then last second put it back for something else. The perfume bottle turns me off. That’s not really fair so I’m going to snag one soon due to your recommendation. Great reviews. You’re always very clear and well spoken. Thanks again!

Hi Geoff! I'm writing from Italy, and I just picked up a bottle for 50€ (less than 55$). I really like the flavours, especially the finish, where I picked up a strong cooked cherry note that sent me flying across the room! Great value, especially for how refined it tastes (and looks :P). Keep up the good work!

Please review the 15 and cask strength. I’m a sherry head. Although lately I’m trending more toward bourbon matured. As a 12 year old sherry what are your top 3? For me so far, Bunnahabhain 12, Glenfarclas 12, then maybe macallan 12. I haven’t tried this 12 year Tamdhu yet. It’s $50 around me. My preferred style is the dark fruit, heavy sherry Glendronach 15(0ld)/18 style. I recently purchased an Edradour 12 cask strength that I haven’t tried yet. Saving it for Christmas.

Edradour CS sounds great! I don't have a Tamdhu CS on the go (finished Batch 3 about a month ago), but I'll gladly put a review of the 15 into the pipeline! My answer for top 3 sherried 12s would change from day to day. Tamdhu 12 for elegance, Caledonia for character, and Bunna coz it's such a classic!

Need to try the 12. The 15 is one of the best sherried 15's out there and definitely a better buy than the current Macallans. Good review for a sherry champion that mostly lurks in the shadows.

Hey Jeff. Just curious about where you found the information the Tamdhu 12 is not chillfiltered. Most people seem to think it is, and they say the 15 states it's nonchillfiltered on the bottle, which suggest that the 12 is (or they would put it on the label). chillfiltering bothers me more than the low abv, so it would be awesome if it was actually nonchillfiltered (ordered mine today and only later realized that most people believe it's filtered). @@Gwhisky No worries. There seems to be some indecision on the internet. When mine arrives (hopefully today) I plan on adding a few drops of water and check for a mist. not holding my breath. What really matters is if it tastes awesome though.

​@@GwhiskyMy Tamdhu 12 arrived yesterday... what a beautiful bottle and box. Tried it, just a tiny little dram... lovely. Smells similar to the Macallan 12... but on the palate it does away with the sweetness completely, this is a dry sherry. Tannins are really present, it almost seems like it's older than 12 years old (and some of it may as well be). Not the slight hint of alcohol anywhere. It's a bit crazy that it feels thin at first but then it packs quite a finish. I loved it and it's really different from what I expected. Can't wait to see what it looks like once it's opened up. Are we sure this is unchillfiltered? I can’t find anything on that, and it seems some other reviewers think it is chill filtered

Great stuff. Took a chance on this last year, and no regrets. Solid value. I like the distinctive Art Deco look. Not overtly complex, but a well-executed sherry profile. Elegant is an accurate description.

Lovely whiskey, but only had 1 glass at festival, reminds me of compass box Spaniard, but maybe cause both are sherry ones. Think i would like to get my own bottle one day. Price for 12 seems fair, 15 and batch one is twice price. P.s in Lithuania it's cheaper then bunahabain 12 by 20 euros or even more.

I like the way you have structured your videos, it's spot on. If possible can you please also review macallan lumina, glen garioch 15, glen grant 18, balvenie triple cask 12, glenfarclas 15 & 17, chivas regal ultimate Japanese oak, highland park 16, glen deveron 20, Knockando 18, glendronach 18, Bowmore 18? Another great review. I also agree with you on this one. Very nice 12Y sherried whisky and despite being bottled at 43% you don't miss anything. Would be nice to hear from you if you have tried Glen Garioch 12Y and Clynelish 14Y (maybe for later reviews?). Cheers!

I have slowly been getting into scotch over the last 5 years, and wanted to pick up a unique bottle for a friends bday. I did a lot of research and this bottle made the cut. I must say, it was excellent! In fact, it was exceptional. We sipped it slowly over the afternoon and polished it off completely. I am going on an African Safari in 2 months as we had its big brother (15) delivered to the lodge earlier in the week. I am beyond excited to try it.

I bought one, and I must say that I find it a bit too spirited, I mean, we all love spirits, but it has this sharp thing happening, like what many alcogel or spirit for disinfecting hands have (< what is the word, please....? ;- ) -I'll say that I to some degree have the same expeience with their batch strength series, but thát is at 55% or so, so I'm surprised to find i in a 43% one, so all in all, I think that they will have to reconsider how they cut their new make....

Interesting. I never got too much of an ethanol note in this. Maybe you got a bad batch? Tamdhu is famous for being quite gentle. 🥃

I got tamdhu 15 in my bar and I have tried that one and I found that tamdhu 15 has little adge on macallan 12 I know one is 12 and one is 15 Yr old but they are same price so prefer tamdhu 15 over macallan 12 as the same price and better aged whiskey! But I also like macallan 12 that is also excellent piece of work. I will try tamdhu 12 soon..

@@Gwhisky I live in Sydney and I bought tamdhu 15 around $114aud when it was on special otherwise it is generally around $125aud. Macallan 12 sherry oak i bought around $115 when it was on special otherwise generally it is at around $125aud. So it is almost the same price for us.

Where I live Tamdhu 15 is about 30 USD more expensive than Mac 12. In fact, Tamdhu 15 and Macallan Double Cask 15 are pretty much the same price in Taiwan.

As far as I understand, You have to go 46% or more, if You don't chill-filter the whisky (if You want the liquid to be clear in the bottle, anyway....;- ), so I guess that it is actually chill-filtered....???

Try something different. Unless it’s the uncommon ones, Johnnie walker, Macallan etc is around for so long and tons of reviews have already been done.
