I’ve been going through a stage of denial and depression, this is shifting me inbetween inner peace and inner crumble. I am only here for the experience and mindset this song gives me. @@plvto1 I get that’s the most popular part but you gotta at least hear the whole song instead of skipping right to that part, people have different preferences I get it but it’s like when you skip a show or movie to the most popular part it’s just a no. And in my opinion people who do that I don’t like cause what’s the point of searching for that song or movie if u are just gonna waste your time searching for that one part when you can just watch or listen to the whole thing . And plus this song has many cool parts that they might like. And I also know that people might not want to spend their time listening to the whole song. But to actually enjoy a song or learn a song you gotta listen to the wholeeee thing same with a movie.

[Verse 1] It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" [Chorus] All this running around trying to cover my shadow A notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow All this running around bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm, must be morning [Verse 2] I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen [Chorus] All this running around, I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out and it's never been closer If my take-off fails, make up some other story But if I never come back, tell my mother I'm sorry [Instrumental Interlude] [Bridge] I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? Anyone think that- [Outro] Baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along, oh baby

(TW: suicide) half a year ago, i listened to this song as i was attempting to commit suicide. the line “all this running around, i can’t fight it much longer” just kept on replaying as my vision started to blur. i was so tired. i tried to ignore this feeling of emptiness inside of me for so long that eventually, i just gave up. if this was my fate, then i should “let it happen”. i didn’t go through but this song comforted me during the worst period of my life. i’m still not better but i’m getting there. thank you tame impala.

Everything in my life collapsed in the span of a few weeks this March of 2020. My wife left me, i lost my apartment, lost my job, lost my internship with SF's legislative branch, my school closed (Im supposed to get a degree in May) and im back home living with my parents right back where I started 6 or 7 years ago. My empire has crumbled, and all I can say in my hysteria is.... let it happen. I will rebuild. ... ... ... Edit/Update/Thing: Wow, I leave for 3 months and come back to all this love. You people are damned inspiring. It's September now, and everything has changed. My wife and I are still separated but on very good terms, I spent 3 months salmon fishing in Alaska (because why the hell not?) that I just got back from, I ended up finishing my degree online and am done with school at long last, and I have plans to move to a new state with close friends and continue rebuilding my empire. In other words, I actually followed my own advice! Who would've thought? lol. Anyways, since I left this little comment I have occasionally gotten little notifications of different people saying really sweet things and it was always a very beneficial boost to my spirits along the way. So thank you, weird little awesome, friendly corner of the internet, for following along with my story. You can follow me on IG @derek_jcg if for some strange reason you want to see some of my recent and future adventures (: Cheers... and as always... keep Letting It Happen.

It's always around me, all this noise, but Not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen" (It's gonna feel so good) "Just let it happen, let it happen" All this running around Tryin' to cover my shadow A notion growing inside Now all the others seem shallow All this running around Bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm It must be morning I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound, and When it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen All this running around I can't fight it much longer Something's tryin' to get out And it's never been closer If my take-off fails Make up some other story But if I never come back Tell my mother I'm sorry Baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along

This isn't usually the type of music I listen to, but this song really perfects the art of the build-up. It teases with you with it half way through the track and then it just hits you at the end. It's a really solid track on a really solid album

This song is weirdly restless and comforting at the same time, like you are having a panic attack on weed but someone is telling you everything will be okay eventually I just noticed this was weirdly specific

I feel the same thing, it's like a crying for someone that died, but reading a letter written by him to you, saying he knew this would happen and trying to confort you, even not being there you can feel his warmth, being more sad and feeling more confort, at the same time No, i never passed through that, but still weirdly specific too

Agreed, and Kevin even works that feeling into the percussion if you pay attention- the 4-on-the-floor snare pattern in the first half of the song conveys a sense of restlessness, but after the middle section when the drum beat comes back in, it has a way more confident swagger and groove to it

lyrics: It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" All this running around Trying to cover my shadow An ocean growing inside All the others seem shallow All this running around Bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm Must be a warning I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen All this running around I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out And it's never been closer If my ticker fails Make up some other story And if I never come back Tell my mother I'm sorry I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that Oh, maybe I was ready all along Oh, maybe I was ready all along Oh, maybe all I wanted was the sound Oh but maybe I was ready all along Traduzir para o português

This is one of those songs, where depending on your mood it could change how you hear it. A year ago when I first discovered Kevin, I was depressed and anxious most days, and I'd purposefully not listen to this song because something about it made me feel sad/worse. Now, I'm rarely depressed or anxious, and this song is such a fucking jam. Thank you Kevin for all of your amazing songs.
