Man, this song really resonates with me. I used to have a great teacher for 7 years (knew him for 10 years) and in person he's a really sociable guy people really want to be around, he never demanded respect or anything at all, people respected him because he knew what was right and wrong. He lived simply and enjoyed life to the fullest and always so positive about everything... He always stuck his way of teaching, instead of forcing information in your head he would just present the teachings to you and you would be the one responsible for taking it in. One time in his class I opened a playlist of songs I listen to (since he was super laid back and enjoyed the student's freedom), and this song happened to play. I was enjoying this song since it was the second or third time I was listening to it and bopping my head to it, out of nowhere when the chorus hit I will never forget the time he sang along since he wasn't really a music guy. I had the biggest smile anyone could ever imagine, a teacher relating to a student through music. It really hit... He sadly passed away last year in 23 September, 2020 from Diabetes. May your soul rest in peace you wonderful person... Edit: Everyone replying is so wonderful! I hope for anyone who is going through a bad time can get through it, it's only a matter of time until good times will come. :)

Naa homie. The point of view character in this song isn’t the good guy here. He’s obsessing over a woman that has no interest in him to the point where he cant move on, and a reason to not try it out with someone who might be interested (Heather in this case) is because she’s supposedly slept with Trevor, almost like he sees her as tainted goods.
