Everything in my life collapsed in the span of a few weeks this March of 2020. My wife left me, i lost my apartment, lost my job, lost my internship with SF's legislative branch, my school closed (Im supposed to get a degree in May) and im back home living with my parents right back where I started 6 or 7 years ago. My empire has crumbled, and all I can say in my hysteria is.... let it happen. I will rebuild. ... ... ... Edit/Update/Thing: Wow, I leave for 3 months and come back to all this love. You people are damned inspiring. It's September now, and everything has changed. My wife and I are still separated but on very good terms, I spent 3 months salmon fishing in Alaska (because why the hell not?) that I just got back from, I ended up finishing my degree online and am done with school at long last, and I have plans to move to a new state with close friends and continue rebuilding my empire. In other words, I actually followed my own advice! Who would've thought? lol. Anyways, since I left this little comment I have occasionally gotten little notifications of different people saying really sweet things and it was always a very beneficial boost to my spirits along the way. So thank you, weird little awesome, friendly corner of the internet, for following along with my story. And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it?

[Verse 1] It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" [Chorus] All this running around trying to cover my shadow A notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow All this running around bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm, must be morning [Verse 2] I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen [Chorus] All this running around, I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out and it's never been closer If my take-off fails, make up some other story But if I never come back, tell my mother I'm sorry [Instrumental Interlude] [Bridge] I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I cannot vanish and you will not scare me Tryna get through it, try to bounce to it You were not thinkin' that I will not do it They be lovin' someone and I'm another story Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? Anyone think that- [Outro] Baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh baby, now I'm ready, moving on Oh, but maybe I was ready all along Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound Oh, but maybe I was ready all along, oh baby

Agreed. If people could just foster their own ability to just let feelings go where they want, running an unobstructed coarse, they would discover coping skills that allow honesty with self, leaving anxieties and fears no traction. Like an instrument, practice gives way to skill, and natural pathways, making it seem effortless after a while, like muscle memory for neurons, you know....a talent. I know you understand. Anyway, thanks for kickstarting this avenue of thought.....

Agreed, and Kevin even works that feeling into the percussion if you pay attention- the 4-on-the-floor snare pattern in the first half of the song conveys a sense of restlessness, but after the middle section when the drum beat comes back in, it has a way more confident swagger and groove to it

I love this song. If I had to pick a song to get stuck in my head forever. I'd pick this. Makes me feel so happy, like butterflies in my chests ready to explode with happiness.

Ashton McGuire that’s interesting because this song makes me feel very confused and sort of lost. I like it tho. It’s cool how much interpretation can differ from person to person.
