Poor No Friend US is a country. At least it is acknowledged. Just because something is a norm doesn't make it right. Slavery was once a norm but it had to be challenged. The tendency to reduce Africa to a country is inherently problematic because at its root is the racist perception of Africa as inferior. This is why it is saddening when black Americans ignorantly do the same without questioning why. It might seem harmless but it ought to be challenged as well, IMO.
