This is because the tiebreaking rules in the IPL give priority to teams with more wins. Mumbai Indians had 6 wins, while Royal Challengers Bangalore had 5 wins.BUT, the tiebreaking rules in the IPL have been changed since 2015. In the current rules, net run rate is given priority over wins. This means that if two teams have the same number of points, the team with the better net run rate will finish higher in the table.

Hi bro, can you explain why 20 overs has to be played for DLS to be effective and not % of runs scored by team batting second.. Real life example: I remember an instance during 1992 WC when Pakistan were all out for 70 and rain interrupted when England had already scored 30 runs during the first 6-7 overs. The match was called off and Pakistan got 1 pt. Eventually this 1 point made them go through the semis and ironically defeated England in the finals

I see a flaw in this method... Assume the India, New Zealand scenario, let's say Newzealand played a few balls and lost 3 wickets. Here because of the low available resources, the formula leads to low target score for NZ which is favouring against India even when India bowled well...
