from someone who works for a large food production company, the closed product code will tell you what factory it was made in, but they put the corporate address on it for consumer complaints or other issues. they will then use the closed code to figure out what plant/factory it was made in and direct the complaint/issue/comment to the factory it was made in for next steps. with large companies that have multiple plants/factories, things are usually handled internally. the public isn't even allowed to tour the factory I work in due to allergen concerns, even though it is the biggest plant in the US of the company I work for.

That’s the only one of these I’ve tried and I liked it too. I wonder if you could freeze it and eat it over time? It’s massive.

Love a good pecan pie and the more goo the better. Slightly warm with a dollop of vanilla. Yummy. Thanks for the review.

I’m so sick of these places messing up the baking and putting them out and expecting people to buy them. My local Costco must have got a new baker because the croissants are always too dark. Completely ruined them. If they mess up like with the WF one they should at least mark them down a little smh. Great video thanks! Pecan pie is my fav. I don’t have a Meijer. 😞😒 I guess I’ll be checking for “made in Canada” on every pie I see at all grocery stores. 🤪

Heyy Tami. I recently tried out some items at aldis including their version of a cosmic brownie and I noticed a huge difference in flavor and texture even compared to the classic cosmic brownie. They’re called “confetti brownies” and are in a blue box. I would be thrilled to see you and Kevin do a blind taste test video comparing the 2 this month and seeing for yourself how different they are, despite how similar you’d assume they’d be :)

We will try them! I have to warn you though; it will be a while from now. We have loads of foods already bought to review.

Interesting, when I worked for Meijer, all the baked goods came from their bakery in Indiana. Time rolls on.

Just like the Pumpkin, Marie Callendar is my favorite frozen and Kroger is my favorite store-brand Pecan Pie. We have a couple bakeries that do fantastic Pecan Pies, and around $12.

The darker pecan pies are usually made with dark Caro syrup instead of light Caro syrup. Some people just like the stronger flavor of dark Caro syrup and I have had them made with both the light and the dark and I like them both but I make mine with the light Caro syrup.

Such a fun video idea! Always interesting to see which pies have pecans throughout vs pecans just on top of the goo 😅 With respect to pecan pie, pecan pie brownies are my favorite, hands down! Thanks for trying all of these for us! Hope you had a great weekend! Ooh, speaking of Trader Joe’s, we went to our local one today and they were sampling the rosemary mixed nuts. I’m usually not a rosemary fan but they were pretty good! Definitely worth trying!

Yeah, no Meier on the East Coast. I came into this expecting Whole Foods to be the clear winner. Very enlightening! I looked for another video and only found one (2 years ago) and it may as well have been yours. The same complaints exactly. They noted the box says "Prepared FOR Whole Food Market..." The only other one I can think of to try is Costco.

I like when they put chopped pecans all throughout the filling in addition to the halves on top. It's very hard to find that kind though. Only Wal-Mart, Giant, Wegmans, and Aldi around here.

Walmart is the only one of these stores within an hour and a half from me 😥 I was wondering if you would call out the saltiness of the Marketside's crust, I thought the exact same thing. I had never eaten a pie with such a distinct layer of pecans and layer of "goo." I'm used to them being mixed together.

Whole Foods doesn't use all the crap other companies do in their ingredients, so it's closest to homemade with real ingredients as possible.

Along those same lines it would be interesting to know if all Trader Joe’s got their pies from Canada… or if there are different factories that distribute them…,like with Girl Scout cookies…

People do yardwork in my area nearly everyday, as early as 7 in the morning... And when one person starts, everyone else starts. I joke that the leaf blower is the "true" state bird of NJ, besides something else.. The Trader Joe's pie is actually the most expensive when you price compare (after sales). The Walmart pie is 24 cents per ounce The Trader Joes pie is 41 cents per ounce The Whole Foods pie is 53 cents per ounce (39 cents per ounce on sale) The Meijer pie is 31 cents per ounce
@TamiDunn15 күн бұрын
We normally don’t hear any yard work being done from October to mid March. Kevin and I have always felt that fallen leaves are nature’s natural protection to the little critters 😃

Don’t have a Meijer anywhere near me. Our Trader Joe’s, whole food is an hour away. Ofcouse we have Walmart. We have Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Sam’s and ALDI. But we have 2 other grocery stores named Piggly Wiggly and Smith’s red and white that has the old fashioned candy, fresh baked cakes and pies! 😊

same for me... TJs and Whole Foods both 40 min away, Harris teeter 35, wegmans 35. we don't have Meijer at all here in VA. we also have martin's, Kroger, Walmart, Food Lion, and Aldi in the immediate area.

Whole Foods quality has gone downhill since Amazon bought it. I was there the other day and they had some expensive Thanksgiving cookies that were made in Mexico- how tacky and lame that the have to import even their cookies now from Mexico.
