My niece is really enjoying crocheting. She has a few if those kits… my grandmother used to crochet, knit and quilt… I have some things she made for me… when she was alive, she’d make me slippers every year (I’d wear holes in them), I have a few other things like a sweater and a blanket… I cherish them. I also must say how amazing it is that Kevin is trying this!!!

My Joann's superstore looked really low on inventory a week or so ago, and they won't hire people to come in to stock the shelves with the inventory they have. But great sales.

I loved the yarn that Kevin got and love sewing and knitting. I might take it up again but I also might buy a sewing machine. My sister straight stole my Singer Sewing Machine (EXPENSIVE!!!). Thank you for this trip to Joann's! I haven't been to the one in my area in forever. I used to go all the time. Yours is nice but it basically looks like Michael's. I worked in Joann's in 1992 because I could not find other work for awhile in Miami after Hurricane Andrew (long story). We had a very small store in the mall. It was completely bursting at the seams because it was tiny and we were constantly receiving shipments every 5 minutes it seemed (I did some register, but mainly I received the shipments and re-stocked the floor and cleaned the shelves and aisles and displays all the time. I used to dream about yarn and bobbins and all kinds of sewing things. LOL I am really surprised at how different it looks than the Joann's I came to know. The one in NC that I used to frequent was more like the Miami one (though much bigger). When did they start looking like all the other stores of that type (crafts)? I have seen the commercials a lot for Wobbles, btw. Not surprised they are expensive. Seems like a Tik Tok invention!

This store is a newer building, but truly our old store was a good size too. We always enjoy visiting from time to time. We really got a great deal on that yarn. I checked Amazon and they are at least $13 each!

They always have really unique seasonal decor. Things don't look good though with them looking for a buyer. Seems similar to Big Lots. That Halloween should be 90 off at this point.What are they waiting on Halloween 2025?

It’s surprised me that most stores we’ve been in haven’t been reducing holiday items as low as they normally do. Their ornaments are still very overpriced. We still have a Big Lots in our area thankfully.

I’m in a few adult coloring groups on Facebook. I watch coloring channels on KZbin as well. There’s a lot of drama there too. Some people are judgmental about coloring media and tools. People slam other’s artwork. Sad really..

Exactly, it’s so childish. I used to play a game on Facebook about cats. People would get on the chat boards in the game and act like people were mistreating real cats.

I haven't been to a JoAnn store in I don't know how long. I used to go for drawing supplies (though my store of choice is Blick), but I don't draw anymore so I don't really have a need to go in there. I wish I could crochet; I would make a bajillion sweaters for my dog and I. I can't do it for the life of me though.. I've tried. 😭 My mom and I watch M*A*S*H!

@ I still enjoy cooking and baking! I tried to keep up with drawing, but I was really just forcing myself to do it when I didn’t want to. It just doesn’t appeal to me as much as it did when I was a teenager.
