I think when a tempered glass shatters, it absorbs kinetic energy and hence the impact doesn't affect (up to a limit) the phone under it. Since the 21D glass didn't break, all the kinetic energy was transferred to the phone and damaged the internals. So I think the 21D is not a good option for the phone.

Bro, I already tried 21D. En phone kela vilundhuchu temper onnum agala but display odanchuruchu. So adhu waste bro. Adhu odayadhu but display odanchuru. Idha 200 rupees kuduthu potadhuku enaku 4000 rupees loss. Best to go with Normal tempered glass.
