This is like games mirroring reality, the FSO is in early access and pilots get to be the beta testers while having the privilege of paying for the module, the repairs, the insurance costs and probably the recoup costs of burning yourself alive. Fun

I'm using the C rated version for mission running right now. Just so long as you don't need to jump very far, they're great!

@@Spike553 I'm still playing around somewhat - But if your messing with the BGS for example, staying in _one system_ the SCO is very handy for moving between stations and settlements. I often take combat missions - my home system has a system next door, only 3Ly away - a very close target! I tried the SCO on an Eagle, Viper, Vulture and a Cutter. I find using it in 'short bursts', just a few seconds at a time, keeps it nice and controllable 👍

The Python MKII is an unfathomable disappointment - I was expecting and hoping for a slightly more combat oriented multirole ship that could still do other things effectively, if not as good as the MKI, instead we got a bland, middling combat ship without enough internals to even fit a decent SCB, something essential for combat, and good luck fitting more than a single Hutton Mug in the cargo hold. If they really wanted a stealthy combat-only ship based on a similar platform, why not a Krait, since the original MK1 was a combat ship in the first place? Call it the Krait "Spectre" or something, IDK Oh well, at least we have other ships, I personally look forward to seeing the new, undisputed cargo haulage king, the *Eagle MK IV*

So, let me get it straight. Fdev made a special feature of higher stability in SCO for the Python mk2, but gave it a 4 class fuel tank and such a limited amount of additional slots, that you definietly don’t want to waste them for scoop or an additional fuel tank. Geniously!

I've had a play with the "C" class SCO FSD on a couple of ships - great fun! Looking forward to getting my grubby little paws on the pre-built Python MK II as soon as it hits the Arx store... Yes, I have too many Arx in the bank... Plus, they are now devalued, so getting the ship makes some sense, and fun, in any game, is my sole pursuit!

The secret is to shove on a small ship you don't care about. It's really quite effective when used in moderation

I put it on my miner and significantly reduced time between carrier and ring. When these come in A-rated, it's a no-brainer. Use with care, though.

It would be really cool if new ships had stealth capability, allowing us to run certain missions without system authority interference or bounty spam. Tie it with a new powerplay, where hunting down npc traffic to/from new carrier groups ("strongholds") affected system control and it would both be a blast and a solid reason to purchase the new specialized variants. the new drives designed specifically for bubble in-system travel fit that gameplay loop perfectly.

the sco fsd overheats very fast so I used the best heat dispersing ship the Diamondback Scout added fuel to all my optional internals and now im easily doing long courier missions that give a million credits each in two minutes.
