Taming our First Dinosaur in this insane Challenge - 5 Tame Challenge in Ark Ascended EP7

Hey, How's it going everyone? What would you pick if you could ONLY Tame 5 creatures in Ark? Would you go for the best crafters? Would you go for the best Cave mounts? Would you pick the ones that give you the best bang for your buck?
The Rules are simple!
1. Only 5 Rideable tames - 5 Slots - Each individual dinosaur is a slot
2. Only 1 Shoulder Pet allowed
3. Tames are breed specific, if you Tame a Rex, that slot will always be a Rex slot
4. If you breed, that will take up 3 slots, 1 for each parent, 1 for the baby, IF you decide to breed, pick carefully, you cannot move those slots to other dinosaurs.
5. The ONLY way to Clear a slot is if that dinosaur dies, but the Slot is always tied to that breed. If you Tame a Rex and he dies, you may tame another Rex for that slot, but ONLY a Rex.
Can you rise to the challenge? 5 Tames is all you get, can you do it?!

Great vid Phlinger and wow I love the colors to ur bary! :) Btw dude when we were in the island in my server (like last year), I built a really neat base inside of that cove ur in rn, so can't wait to see what you'll come up with for u tend to come up with some awesome base builds...and I especially loved watching the vid u made with the Phoo Phighters and showing off their bases in the center....they gave me some great ideas and I built some things they created! Love all of ur content dude! XD

Oh yay!! Love this series, makes you feel like each tame is so important, they are true characters of the serie ^^ Since she's grey and blue (and magnificent by the way), I'd probably call her something cloud or weather related. Like Storm (she's a she, it fits xD) or Tempest or stuff. But yeah, I'm not the most reliable name-giver :'D

Should’ve tamed a Megatheruim you can shoot off back do chitin cave. Also collects Berries and Meat very efficiently and fiber plus it can Boss especially with its Buff for bugs!

I always go with Jacque for male or Jackie for female on my Bary mount.

As to the name, I always name my first female baryonix, Drew, and my first male, Lionel, after Drew Barrymore and her great uncle. Additional ones follow the same theme. John (father and grandfather's names), Ethel (great aunt), Georgiana and Maurice (great grandparents). A suggestion for the raft: You have the ladder attached to the ceiling/floor piece your bed is on and a single quarter floor piece at the bottom to land on. This means you have to go around the ladder to get up or down, and because you are dropping slightly away from the raft and have a small landing area because of the single quarter piece to land on, you have to be careful when coming down. Instead, add a hatch frame to the side of the bed and add a second quarter floor next to the existing one on the bottom. That way, you can attach the ladder to the hatch frame opening opposite the bed so that you climb directly up the ladder without having to go around it, making it easier to go up. When coming down, you won't have to look over the edge to be able to see the ladder, and when you let go at the bottom, you will both be falling towards the raft and will have the extra quarter floor piece to land on, so you don't have to be as careful coming back down. The only caveat is that you may want to add a rail to the outside of the hatch frame so you don't accidentally jump or walk off when getting to the top of the ladder.

NO WAY WE ARE ALWAYS IN SYNC!!I JUST GOT A LEVEL 115 BARYONYX LAST NIGHT AFTER 2 DAYS OF CHASING HER AROUND AND KILLING (and getting eaten by) SHARKS!! **edit** AND my current base is at that little island @4:02 by the old stone henge. I want to use that big triangular arch as a structure to build a porch under. My main building is up against the east side of it built around the big tree.

Congrats! Such a pretty bary. I would name her Skye for her sky-blue belly and spikes. As for your base spot, it's a good one - I used it on my first ASA playthrough. Sadly, the save eventually died, so I had to abandon it, but it was great while it lasted. Edit: I see someone else suggested the name with a different spelling (Sky). Great minds think alike? LOL

Please confirm, was that an Omen or an Oh man!? Seems to me you could have made use of a Leeds in this episode ;) Now you have the muscle to run the ravine to the hunter cave, it might be worth checking if it gives cave quantities of berries and fibre (I'm sure some caves don't but can't remember which)

This may seem corny but... You should name the baryonyx River. Not only was she tamed on the river, her coloring is water colored as well. And she is your 'River to success'.

I think you should make the rule , if you want a new dino of the same type, the original should be dead BEFORE you start taming. The way you are planning on doing it feels like exploiting a loophole.

They do have a berry sickle mod lol but I've watched you awhile now and you don't use alot of mods. Plus I upped my harvest output to 4 in my server but I still can't get as much stuff as you do.

Phlinger maybe just maybe tame a low level one to be able to get you up to a higher level bary? Would it count if you kill your tame in order to get a higher tame? Think this needs to be addressed since your only allowed 5 tames and if your going by that rule. Cause if you are going by that rule and if it is allowed you would be able to breed then just kill off the parents???
