I never found myself fond of the K-4, or any 109 past the G-2. In relation to their opposition, they just feel like downgrades. Heavier, not as responsive, bad control lockup at high speed. Great climb and acceleration between 4km's and 6.5km's, but not many scenarios to exploit that. Historically, a refit of the cheap 109 airframe to make it suitable for intercepting bombers, and it shows with a powerful engine and armament. It also shows with sluggish handling and poor e-retention. As you said, it's extremely reliant on both your team and the enemy team being in the right place at the right time. It can work, but it's not a plane I feel confident in. Feels more like I'm at the mercy of my team and the enemy team than my own agency.

the k4 has realy good e-retention in the vertical not so much in a turn maybe there is the part you dont like about it but using MEC its superior climb and vertical e-retention it can be realy good if you have the energy advantage i know that because i have put like 200 games on it with more than 400 kils its a hard plane but its good when use properly

otmin Ealnamer Not sure what you mean about poor energy retention. Also this thing performs very well above 5 km, so you can gradually push the enemy team down. This tactic is especially useful against spitfires because they don’t perform as well as you do at those altitudes.

I thought the br drop would make the FW 190 d13 nice to play with those central cannons but it's been harder than I thought. I usually have a good time with the A4. Good point about not climbing too high.

The nose mounted 30 on the k4 is good for bombing hunting but not for going after fighters and jets because it makes the nose heavier reducing climbrate and acceleration and turnrate I prefer the 20 mil nose mounted option because the dogfighting capabilities are improved and the k4 bleeds less speed in climbs and in vertical turns and in level flight with that option because the 20mil on the nose makes it less heavy I've even compared the 20 and 30 mil options on the k4 30 mil on the nose adds weight to the aircraft even without gunpods the 20 mil without gunpods will make it lighter and 30 mil with the pods makes the weight and drag even more worse

The 20mil k4 without pods is the best k4 in my opinion also its a very underestimated tier 4 aircraft alot of p51h pilots bearcat pilots and also mk24 griffon pilots will come after you thinking there rockets but they are very easy opponents to deal with if you use vertical energy fighting tactics the

I have a very good KD in this plane and just haven't touched it after spading it. It might be the repair cost, but in any case, it's one of those unicorn fighters that you just want to have and once you do have them, spaded, you never really take them out. You always go back to your guilty pleasures. K4 is great, it's not a guilty pleasure for me. Its just to clinical, surgical, lacks a certain personality.

@@JoelLinus TA 152 H1 is best German prop in game. I am in absolute love with it. I do not fly it out in random battles, its a bit expensive, but I take it out in customs and really shit on spits by turning with them and keeping up.

I love the K4, but only that 109, I'm a TA152C3 guy myself, but for some reason, idk why it cant climb as the 109 K4 since you know, its a freaking TA interceptor, and the airspawn doesn't help much lol

It's because of the weight. The 109 is a much lighter frame and its two MGs and one cannon weigh a LOT less than the armory the C3 has. Also, interesting bit the C3 is inferior to the H in the higher altitudes, but performs better in most categories down low (mostly because of differences in the wing design)

there i no way to play it efectivly right now props are too good of a climbers and your speed isnt realy good and you see the f84 too many times just pass on it if you can and the ho229 is much beter right now

theclockmaker lol no, the F84B is awful at acceleration and the 262 can out perform it in some cases. You play the 262 by climbing to 2k-2.5k and dont turn, the 262 can use boom and zoom at its finesse, and the guns are amazing, literally an amazing jet, the only thing that can out accel you is an F84RE besides that only the P80 is a real issue.

Tried MEC in a bf 109 F-1. Boi its a huge difference. acceleration and slowing down is faster, diving is faster, landing is faster, climbing is faster. Its like im playing a completelly different plane '-'

@@admiralkipper4540 well, changing prop pitch and radaitor flaps while climbing and landing makes it way faster. i mean, close radiator and increase prop pitch while climbing feels faster than auto engine. Tried the same with hayabusa 2. it climbs way faster with MEC than AEC. You can actually climb at 25 degrees around 230-250 kph with that
