The Phantom is such an iconic aircraft and I gotta say, you have done an amazing job on this! Fantastic attention to detail here! It would be great to see it photographed outside in natural lighting, I'm sure it would look even more realistic.

Sometimes I think to myself how some people can have such dedication and patience to build something soo realistic and detailed. I struggle very much with 1/24 scale race cars lol. I also like to do as close as possible to a real car but my patience isn't as close as this.. Jet looks beyond amazing, crazy amount of small details but the end result is just better than imagined.

I wasn't very patient few years ago. But I gradually build my patience each build I think. I consider myself still with lack of enough patience :)

Super job on the 1/32 scale. I always try to build the 1/32 scale because there are lots of details you can't see on 1/72 or even 1/48 scale. I built 1/48 Phantom and Tomcat and was frustrated trying to handle the small parts.

When you cut the decals out, you should be able to apply a low tack masking tape over them to keep the multi-part decals (like the skull) together while you apply the mask to the model, then remove the tape, leaving the decal in place, unless that decal material is already very low tack.
Very nice but I worked on the F4 for years at McClellan AFB and the green windscreen is incorrect, they’re clear just like the rest of the canopy. It’s laminated glass so from certain angles it might show just a slight tint but nowhere near this.
@filibertohuerta23352 жыл бұрын
Great job, but I was surprised the number of additional extra P.E kits to reach this kind of job. I wonder if without this kits could have this result. I understand that nowadays the hobby companies offer more and more details for the models, but where is the real escence of the modeling? Anyway congratulaciones for the job!!!
@ScaleHangar1822 жыл бұрын
PE kits? i didnt use any PE but you mean aftermarket parts? All the aftermarket is optional so if you dont want to spend extra money, you dont have to. I don't get the "where is esence of modelling" part to be honest, what do you mean?

The F4 wouldn't have the reddish brown streaks that's something that occurs on steel and iron objects the F-4 phantom is primarily built from aluminum . The only streaking you would see would be from grease around hinge points of control surfaces and moving panels there would also be streaks of hydraulic fluid in random places where it occurred . The grease would be grayish black and the hydraulic fluid would be burgundy color . i worked on F-4's in the navy 8 years . The phantom can get pretty dirty especially aft of the nozzles everything on the underside should be covered with soot .

When Tamiya came out with these big kits some 15+ years ago there were only three different kits available ( Phantom c/d, e, and j versions). Did they ever come out with the B version? I have the b in 1/48 but the 1/32 would be a nice addition.

Wow ,your builds are top notch as good if not better ......wait actually much, much, much better then Nigel's modeling bench, he has several builds always going and alot of them he never finishes . The ( trumpeters 1/200 titanic build ) for instance I ,think he got over his head and screwed it up ? It disappeared well over a year and half ago . Just buy the photo etch and your good .......the massive alterations are beyond ridiculous. Nigel ,finds fault literally in ever single model .I , hate that...... BUT your modeling skills are museum, quality keep the good work .
@ScaleHangar182 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, i am not a fan of comparing me or any modeller to another person. Some of us are better than others, some others are also better than us. I know it sucks when we annouce some builds and don't deliver them, I am guilty of that. Sometimes you just lose interest in what you started few weeks ago and theres something more thrilling to do. I for exaple lost interest in that F-4 and it was for me to get back to it. I eventually did, but it took me months from start to deliver the final video. I also have a few unfinished build, some i know i will finish, some I just threw away never to look at them again.

Yeah but decals can look painted on if you do it right. Unless you work for a Hollyweird model shop, it should be about having fun. That said I've built a 1/32 scale F4, but it was Steve Ritchie's USAF with the Vietnam-era camo. It hung from my bedroom ceiling for years, in constant pursuit of the 1/32 scale MiG-21 that was part of the Revell set.
