Your excellent work has given this older kit a new lease of life. The result is great and convincing, Brett. A cool model which can be present everywhere. Best wishes and a nice weekend. Joachim

Very clean paint job. For metal parts like shovels, consider applying VMS metallic pigment (No. 25) to the painted surface and then burnishing it down. When it works right, the result is a truly metallic finish. Thanks for the video and the build.

Hi Brett, the M21 has turned out a real stunner, overall there is nothing wrong with the o.det Tamiya kits, I have just finished their old T43/85, and it was a pleasure to build, my only issue aas the few mistakes I made, great build series mate, thanks for sharing, best regards from Australia, Les

Agree with all the other comments. Very nice lob. Did you have any thoughts or comments on the rubber tracks that Tamiya included? I'm getting ready to build this kit (again), and I seem to remember from when I put it together back in the 1970's, that I couldn't figure out to make the tracks look halfway realistic.

Sorry for the delayed reply. The trick, I think, is to glue all if the running gear parts to their outermost limits. Since there is a bit of play in the in the parts by pushing them outward right after installation helps. For example, when installing the drive wheel glue it in place and immediately push it towards the cab. Same with the idler do the same but push it towards the rear. As for the bogey assembly I added a very thin shim between the flat mating surface and the bottom of the chassis where it glues together. The drops the whole bogey system very slightly ( I used very thin styrene sheet for this.) Doing this doesn't change the stance enough to notice but by doing all of this it does pull the tracks a bit tighter, which is the biggest complaint. Hopefully this all made sense. Let me know how it works.
